This one clearly has a bigger budget, and uses multiple cameras, which I liked, it's not really something that's been done before in the genre. But the clear big budget and more cinematic effects makes this film not half as effective as the first one, simply because it's not as realistic. Like so many other people, I wasn't too keen on the supernatural route they went down, I thought it was meant to be a zombie film, but now it doesn't really feel like one... I mean, zombies running up walls, really? The attempted bigger scale is never a good way to go with a film like this, because it's just makes you see all the plot holes coming through, something that wasn't a problem in the first film, which focused a lot more on characters rather than story. The increase in the cinematic style also made the film seem a bit silly, the guy holding the camera does things that no other human would, like walk backwards down a corridor even though he knows there are zombie demon things running about, but it turns out he was willing to risk it just so all the other characters were in shot at the same time... But it's still scary and enjoyable with some strong acting and an idea I'd like to see expanded, but they decided to make Genesis instead.

He's an omega male, and is ignored and shown disrespect regularly, often in vulgar fashion. He's the protagonist since he wants certain mysteries solved. After World War II, the Communists stole a huge amount of land in Romania, sending a modern nation back into feudalism. The landowners could get their land back after the fall of communism. However, the rising capitalist/carpetbagger class finagled laws requiring that original land deeds be produced to successfully conduct such claims. One of Vlad's mysteries was, "where is grandfather Nicholae's land deed?" That takes up a large chunk of the film. Early on, Vlad signs a death certificate, which he should not have done. He never quite got those medical credentials. The police ferret this out, and one of the detectives, Octav, uses this fact to force Vlad to assist him in the investigation of the death. The third major thread is the matter of who is a strigoi (vampire) and who was not, along with whether the strigoi exist or not. The strigoi make Vlad's other two investigations that much more difficult. By the end of the film, Vlad is no longer the omega male.--------Scores--------------- Cinematography: 8/10 Occasionally dark, but mostly competent. Sound: 8/10 A little low at times. Acting: 10/10 Just right for the screenplay. Screenplay: 7/10 The plot was murky, but moves along. The conclusion was difficult but also satisfying. This is one of my favorite low-budget vampire films.

All in all, it works for those expecting a normal high school comedy/drama (involving asian americans), but digs deep within underworld crime and undeniable motifs I've never before seen in film.

He gets thrown off of the train because of the "color" of his skin. This event, that took place, was a catalyst for a non-violent protest in the center of town to burn permits that non-African descents are required to carry and show when police demand for it. During the protest he was repeatedly beat on by the police and eventually falls and was arrested. After his release from jail, Gandhi decided that he should protest against Britain, and expected to have millions of followers. He first protested against the British textile industry but it went terribly wrong. A second protest was in the garden against an unfair town curfew. During this protest, a lot of people were killed. A trial was held against the general that ordered him and his troops to kill those people as well. After World War two, Britain finally had given India Independence. The country of India ended up dividing by religion and Gandhi did not like it. He carried out a hunger strike against the nationwide violence between Hinduism and Muslim cultures. Gandhi is eventually shot and killed out of Anger. The Movie Gandhi relates to "chapter 4: Hinduism through Dharma" in our world religion books. As Dharma can be seen as the order that upholds the universe by dictating the duties and obligations of all beings, Gandhi did exactly the same thing, if not something similar. Gandhi upheld Dharma by standing up, not only for his personal rights, but for the moral values and the laws of everyone. Gandhi stood up overall for the country of India. He also upheld the Sadharana Dharma, which is the Dharma of ethical action and engagement in a universal sense.
Juuso L (au) wrote: Plot has some flaws and the structure (especially the first hour, or so) is slightly confusing. But still, Goyokin is enjoyable, strong chambara movie. Nakadai gives once again intense performance as a dark and brooding ronin. Man's godda do, what a man's godda do - regardless.
