(mx) wrote: Superb film dealing not only with the nature of racism, but also of humanity's imperfection, which has the result that even do-gooders with the best intentions, who think they know how to order an ideal society, fail to come up with any new answers. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

However, I think the story kinda lacked and shouldn't have ended like it did (she went back to the jerk who cheated on her?! Really?!) ... BUT! I did like the fairytale aspect of it (I'm such a sucker for that kind of stuff) and it was pretty sexy.

Soundly written by Diablo Cody with scaled back vernacular and a little more bite and deftly directed by Jason Reitman who seems to have the knack for caressing and coaxing out all the nuanced moments and character bits in Cody's writing. I think these bitches need to work together all the time. *sniff sniff* Smell that? That's a dream team.
