Larry D (mx) wrote: Definitely not as bad as its reputation (it was featured in the 1978 book "The Fifty Worst Films of All Time"), "Airport '75" from Universal Studios is an entertaining, competently made-- from a technical standpoint-- popcorn flick and a solid entry of the disaster movie genre. Also, watching this made me appreciate more of the gags in "Airplane!" that were clearly inspired from this film, this movie excels in self-parody. I also loved how the onboard film was "American Graffiti", Universal's biggest movie of '73. Interesting note: "American Graffiti" was competing for the Best Picture Oscar against "The Exorcist", which starred Linda Blair who also plays the kidney transplant girl in "Airport '75". Sort of a fourth-wall breaking in-joke/Universal self promo.

They had one obstacle on their way: The Silver Kid--With beautiful color and too much action, this little Western is nice to watch... The female of the species is more deadly than the male!!
