Steve W (de) wrote: This theme is certainly nothing new, it's one of the most overdone, but the film still manages to entertain, it's certainly easy going enough and pretty easy to watch. The chemistry between the actors works, and both of the leads make their characters fascinating. The film has some screenplay issues, some scenes here and there that just don't work well enough and that are cringe-worthy, so much so that I can't call this a great film no matter its strengths. Some plot lines are also resolved a little too neatly and conveniently, however despite several flaws, it manages to work.

Lucas G (au) wrote: The Spectacular Now is romantic comedy coming-of-age that is far from being clich.

Katherine B (it) wrote: Similar plot to that of Salvage, but a completely different take. I never took Thora Birch seriously until I saw her very strong performance in this piece. She really carries the film with tremendous talent.

Jukka K (ca) wrote: Not really horrible at anything but fails to bring anything new and interesting to the overused plot.

Tim S (ag) wrote: If you're looking for a great, fun Halloween party movie, then Night of the Demons is definitely the ticket for you. It's a pure 1980's hard rock-driven Halloween flick with all of the gore, sex and nudity that 1980's horror movies had to offer. It also contains your basic formula of a bunch of teenagers getting together in old abandoned house for a party wherein everything goes to hell. This time around, instead of an old house, it's an old abandoned funeral home, which ups the ante when it comes to the overall creepiness factor. The make-up effects are great, the cinematography is great with atmosphere, and the acting won't win any awards, but it isn't meant to be anything more than what it already is, which is just a fun horror movie. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for scream queen Linnea Quigley in one of the major roles.

Al M (ca) wrote: Brilliant horror film that plays with the nature of reality and the power of image. To say more would be to give away to much, for the film will be better if it is seen without any description.

Brenda H (nl) wrote: Perfect casting with masterful directing and writing result in a movie to watch again and again through the ages.

Brian B (nl) wrote: The best thing I've seen in quite a while. Heartbreaking and uplifting all at once. My god the power of music.

bill s (br) wrote: Good little movie with big actors in an interesting story.

Joetaeb D (jp) wrote: If Disney really looked at how much money they made with Cars 1 and 2 made and thought, "We so need to make a series of talking vehicles in this world." Then Planes is far worse than it actually is. It's created for one purpose, and that is to sell spin off toys of cars. Which shows through it's throw-away plot line, flat stereotypes and corny humor. But really, you could do worse. It is well animated for it's kind so that's a plus.
