kylie j (nl) wrote: The Buddhist concept of reincarnation, while both mysterious and enchanting, is hard for most westerners to grasp. UNMISTAKEN CHILD follows the 4-year search for the reincarnation of Lama Konchog, a world-renowned Tibetan master who passed away in 2001 at age 84. The Dalai Lama charges the deceased monk's devoted disciple, Tenzin Zopa (who had been in his service since the age of seven), to search for his master's reincarnation. Tenzin sets off on this unforgettable quest on foot, mule and even helicopter, through breathtaking landscapes and remote traditional Tibetan villages. Along the way Tenzin listens to stories about young children with special characteristics, and performs rarely seen ritualistic tests designed to determine the likelihood of reincarnation. He eventually presents the child he believes to be his reincarnated master to the Dalai Lama so that he can make the final decision.

Dylan P (au) wrote: Perfect. If not the best ensemble cast of all time, then the best ensemble of the 1950s, lead by Brando in arguably his best performance. Well written masterpiece, with a beautiful soundtrack, perfect acting, good direction and design, a perfect film. Plus, Brando delivers one of cinema's greatest ever speeches. This is a film that still stands relevant nearly 62 years on.

Jared P (nl) wrote: Walter Brennan plays a suave intellectual and is still totally awesome. He even gets a long speech about democracy before his character is hauled off to be executed by the Nazis (buncha jerks).

Melody W (mx) wrote: Another well thought out movie that had me from the moment it started both in heart and soul. Amazing actors and such a credible story. People wouldn't know the significance of honor if it looked them straight in their eyes. Thats what makes THIS movie relevent. I hope others will check it for themselves.
