The story concerns an ultra-idealistic teacher who tries to inspire his students to learn. But as with the "Naked Gun"-type films, the plot is merely an excuse for a rapid-fire string of jokes and sight gags that send-up "ghetto life" cliches.

Two Americans find a lost dog so they try to take it to Morocco to collect to big reward only to find the owner has been killed. They decide not to report it and run away leaving evidence of their presence. Then stupid stuff happens and all the comedy is somehow drained out of the scenes which should be hilarious. The suspense and mystery sucks. If you want to see how a mystery/comedy is supposed to be made, get a Clue.

Bob W (it) wrote: Powerful imagery, frightening nightmarish scenes. The first example of the tragic twist ending later to be perfected in Twilight Zone 40 years later and certainly the first popular horror movie.
Steve W (gb) wrote: Strong performances and focused narrative make this a memorable and gritty coming of age story. It focuses on three youths in 80's Los Angeles, a drug dealer, an up and coming football star, and a college man. The movie is tense and powerful without being preachy, and is one of the more sweeping writer/director debuts.
Debbie S (ca) wrote: I quite liked this little movie because it was cute, funny and sad. I imagine it wasn't popular because there's so much infidelity.
