Overall, I think this film is a true classic American film. Morricone's score is one that's remained on high rotation on my laptop at work. Lastly, Ennio Morricone's provides the film with a lush score that complements the old Hollywood style and also the epic feel of Siegel building his dream. Ben Kingsley is also terrific as Meyer Lansky, who at once wants to take care of his friend Siegel and help him with the Flamingo, but at the same time is a pragmatist who's concerned about the Siegel carelessly spending more and more to build his dream casino. He's only briefly in the film, but gives a memorable performance as a slow witted gangster, playing a character I hadn't seen him do before. A small supporting performance by Elliott Gould is also worth noting. Scripted by James Toback, the film is equal parts fact and fiction, but that too is an old Hollywood type of conceit if it better serves the story and in this film the fiction tells a better story, although the true story is just about as fascinating and many of the strangest bits in the film were actually true. " And like "The Natural" this film is a uniquely American film and seems like something that thematically fitting to be studies in an American Studies course. Levinson cleverly used montages, stock footage and also gives the film the same kind of epic feel that he brought to "The Natural. He directs the film with a an old Hollywood flair, greatly aided by ace cinematographer Allen Daviau. This may also be my favorite film from director Barry Levinson, who has an equally impressive filmography ("Diner," "Avalon," "Rainman"). There are many parallels between these characters and both of these films are probably my top two Beatty performances. Miller" where is was a somewhat innocent entrepreneur setting up a whorehouse in a mining came. If there was another character in Beatty's filmography who I'd compare this character to, it would be to his role in "McCabe & Mrs. Annette Bening is equally good as Siegel's girlfriend who helps Siegel try to achieve his unrealistic dream of building The Flamingo, even as cost to achieve his vision mount and Siegel's mobster investors become increasingly concerned. Beatty is perfect cast because he is able to seamlessly go between violent outbursts and then switching to a likable almost childlike dreamer , which I think most actors would be able to pull off one or the other, but not both. Siegel is at once a dreamer, whether it's impulsively barging into a house to buy it for cash from the owner, or whether it's a childish dream of wanting to act in films, or the film's main story of building the luxurious Flamingo, but at the same time Siegel is clearly a violent sociopath. Beatty has had some meaty roles in the past ("Reds," "Bonnie & Clyde" or "Shampoo"), but his characterization of Siegel is utterly captivating. Warren Beatty as Siegel gives what I think is the best performance of his career. I quite liked this film when it first came out, but since then it's a film that's always kind of stuck with me and has only gotten better with time. " Terrific biopic of gangster Ben "Bugsy" Siegel's dream of building The Flamingo, kickstarting Las Vegas as the gambling mecca we know today. "Twenty dwarves took turns doing handstands on the carpet

The ending looks like a happily ever after but we all know that one person cannot against a country, it's kinda sad but reveals the how arrogant and ignorant we are. It's a deep movie that requires a lot of thinking

It seems like the perfect 80s movie, an alien main character, a goofy plot and slapstick humor! But other than that its a flop and a massive misfire from marvel comics after watching what they've made in the 21st century!

That is the only thing this film has going for it. It was thought that he couldn't play a villain, but this role proved that he could. This is the film that got Robert Walker his role in Strangers on A Train

West Side Story had some good moments but then there was also the romance. Snakes on a Plane was surprisingly gory, but unsurprisingly unexciting otherwise. Bad idea. The Street Fighter trilogy kicks ass, except for the third movie, The Street Fighter's Last Revenge which has the bad idea to turn Sonny Chiba into a spy and remove all the gore

rade A perfect 10. What a beautiful execute a film that I have ever seen from a hand painted drawing to cinema is yet the most genius thing at Stanley Kubrick nor any other director would've had tribute. did not want any part of having FM which is written or directed by Stanley Kubrick what a disappointment but thankfully thankfully we have Barry Lyndon for hidden for the rich cinematography that is deserve an Oscar for god sake Oscars suck it for not having any credits for Stanley Kubrick with his rich cinematography and rich story telling. And owning a script play I am very disappointed that MGM or Warner Bros. As for this is maybe funny this was supposed to be the same cinematography like in Napoleon which was written before Barry Lyndon. From us rich colors Rich storyline Rich acting I have ever seen in English 1700 like era. Especially if it has the main title Stanley Kubrick over the title. Four hours sitting into a movie is worth watching. Stanley Kubrick worked in many ways to bring natural lighting to the film and bringing executing beautiful scenery from playing poker on one scene with the candles, brings in the unique way to bring to cinematography and a new era for creating new ways to bring into film, which I do believe that Stanley Kubrick is the father of that genre. I was from Amadeus steals a bit of Stanley Kubrick's cinematography to bring into Amadeus which I find it very funny today yet they claim that Amadeus was the first film to not use any lighting. Funny thing before I saw Amadeus I saw Barry Lyndon. This is a beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful film I have ever seen in my life. With animation and everything. Barry Lyndon, for four hours not going to the bathroom please this is a Stanley Kubrick must see film

ap actors and crap sharks, but still some mild fun. There is a lot of things going on here, did I mention the submarine close by as well?Well, the shark action is ridicolous, very much the same as in "Shark Zone", in fact some of the scenes are the very same used one more time and the UFO ongoings are even more weird and out of place, but the running around scenes at the station and in the sub is actually almost decent from time to time. The research station gets a visit from a guy from the state that wants tp shut things down. Close to the impact scene we find the undersea scientific research station filled with scientists and women in whore-like massive make-up that are supposed to portray scientists too. The fuel tank is filled with cold fusion and makes the sharks nearby go craz-y. Alien spacehips have a traffic accident just outside planet earth and the fuel tank of one of the ships decends to earth and ends up at the bottom of the sea in the Bermuda Triangle. A Sci-Fi-shark movie? oh yes, why not
