Ashoka the Great torrent reviews

Nathan N (it) wrote: This has got to be one of the better 2 star ratings I have given. "Yeti," as you can imagine, isn't "good." It's pretty bad but it has a certain charm to it. It's just likeable. A very nearly perfect "Cody needs to kill time at work" movie.

Nicholas W (br) wrote: She definitely starts laughing when she's supposed to be crying at the end.

Jeffrey A (gb) wrote: Confessions of a Superhero is a beautifully poignant, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational documentary about the lives of a diverse few aspiring actors working, or as they often see it, begging, on Hollywood Boulevard as they wait for their lucky break.

Bill R (jp) wrote: Just like the title, go into this movie expecting something different. I was surprised how well it was done and from not hearing about it it was really funny. In my taste anyway.

Nick G (ca) wrote: Bloody awful. Time for Van Damme to give up I think.

James B (gb) wrote: Was I supposed to be hammered in order to get this movie or appreciate all those weird scenes?

Stuart M (ag) wrote: This is one of those films that flirts with greatness but never quite reaches it. The first half of the film sets up an amazingly unusual drama by having the kid discover he's somehow gone ten years into the future. A bit like a modern Rip Van Winkle only as a child. This gives us so many opportunities to explore the curiously shifting relationships between a boy who hasn't aged a day and his eight years' wiser family (including a younger brother who's now older than him) who all thought he was dead. It doesn't go deep but perhaps that would be too ambitious. Plus it doesn't have the time. The problem then becomes what to do with such an amazing setup. The answer involves alien spaceships. Not a bad twist. The problem is that once he gets onto the ship all plot advancement halts. Instead of going to meet the aliens, or fleeing from the Feds, or capitalizing on the family drama he simply flies around looking for home. I mean, I get why he wants to go back but it's not a very interesting conflict to watch. Especially since we rarely leave the ship. It's never exciting and it squanders the dramatic opportunities established earlier in the film. Which is too bad because the film that could have existed had the potential to be truly amazing.

Steve W (kr) wrote: A campy blend of a western and fantasy. Whoever thought of a mixture of cowboys and dinosaurs really must have been thinking out of the box. Definitely inspired Crichton's and Spielberg's The Lost World, the film blends great stop motion creatures with a decent story. Very similar to King Kong, but still a very entertaining picture.

Nia E (mx) wrote: A great romp that somehow manages to not be camp and even seeming quite forward-thinking in its execution at times. A brilliant cast (John Neville!) and a fabulous score round up a thoroughly enjoyable mystery!

Austin F (nl) wrote: 80% Meet the Parents benefits from its strong chemistry between the two leads, themes about family and honesty, and is entertaining because of hilarious moments and plenty of slapstick.

Director John Huston's direction is at a fine pace with dilemmas and conflicts ablazing! Real life wife of Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Becall also stars as Nora Temple who helps her father run the family inn! 3.5 out of 4
