Joey F (it) wrote: The most curiously underdeveloped of Ghibli's stories. Nothing is taken as far is needed and thus the film just leaves you wholly dissatisfied. The parents are one dimensional, the boy is one dimensional and kinda creepy, and his relationship with Arrietty feels very forced. Yonebayashi does do an incredible job directing the animation though. Some of the best Ghibli has had, and that is saying something.

George B (it) wrote: Impressively stunning shots. The story might be too slow-paced and plain at first. But if you hold your patience till the end, you'll get the reward of seeing the whole picture.

Charles E (br) wrote: a follow up to the story of the first one, instead of psichics there are paranormal investigators. its more focused on the puppets than anyone else since toulon seems like a background character obsessed with his dead wife this brings down the movie a little to be honest.

Eric N (kr) wrote: Not the kind of movie I will rewatch until I've forgotten it in a decade. It's beautifully shot, and the story is fascinating, though the end of the movie really fell on its face for me.

Alec C (kr) wrote: Caan's character is great. He is a deep man and a soldier. Most people with A-type personnalities are not as in touch and articulate with their feelings. It shows the human side of a career enlisted infantryman. This is an emotional and dark movie. Bring kleenex...

Tyson R (de) wrote: Since my age was a single digit, I've watched this film more times than I can count. Simply a great story with excitement, humour, top quality acting and a timeless soundtrack.

Tom B (ru) wrote: A little too much soul in this for me to fully enjoy. Unfortunately, ALI ranks at the bottom of my barrel for blockbuster boxing movies [in my opinion]. Mixing traditional prizefighting history with 1960s politics, didn't quite hold my attention like a Rocky film. It's long, the first hour drags, and the boxing matches aren't very exciting. Will Smith performance of ranting rhymes nominated him an for an Oscar, but I feel that only adults that were alive back in the sixties can recognize and relate to it. As with most movies with such an epic runtime, you'll get into it during the last 45 minutes. You'll acquire one "uplifting feeling" movie moment after the final punch is thrown.
