(gb) wrote: it's a tough movie to rate but still I enjoyed it. Granted it isn't perfect and there are aspects that stop it from being great, such as the pacing. I went in not knowing anything aside from the title, which is probably for the better, and was surprised to get quite a thrill ride. It does however take a bit to get into it all, it is a bit predictable but still a different take on the whole medium type story. worth a watch, but don't go in expecting some drama about shopping.

BSS is one of my favorite bands, so this is kind of hard for me to do. What I thought coming in was this was going to be a film about 2 people that revolved around them going to a BSS show, what it really is, is a BSS show that is wrapped around a short story, that ultimately fall flat. Another film that has a great trailer and an unsatisfactory final product. If we're supposed to believe the lead character Bruno is really in love with Caroline, why in God's name did he hook up with his best friend (who is a dude, is he gay? We don't know). Fail.
(ag) wrote: This was a fairly entertaining movie. It's not pretentious doesn't try to be anything other than what it is, a chase movie. For most of the movie you go back and forth between present time and an hour or so in the past to explain what's going on and that gets old after a while. The main character is a law school drop out but even though this fact is mentioned several times it really has no bearing on the plot and you wonder at the end why it's even part of the movie. Overall if you haven't seen it and are looking for some light fair I would say it's worth seeing once.

(fr) wrote: Loved the grittiness of this. And doesn't attempt to tie up the ends neatly...just like life. Will look at these cart guys in a different light.

(au) wrote: One night during while performing his usual mind tricks, John Triton comes to the realization that he does indeed have the ability of precognition. Triton is haunted by these precognitions as he tries but fails multiple times to stop terrible things from happening. He envisions the death Cowan, a rich industrialist, and warns him not to fly; he does and subsequently dies. He also has envisions of Cowan's daughter, Jean's death. Jean believes Triton but her boyfriend John is suspicious and calls the police. Naturally Triton has trouble convincing the police of his ability. Night Has A Thousand Eyes is a beautiful, hypnotic film about fate. Edward G. Robinson gives one of his best performances as the tortured soul, Triton, who just wants to help stop the precognitions he keeps seeing. The guilt this man experiences is so well done, mostly because of Edward G. Robinson's performance. Its amazing to me that this film does not have a video release... WTF, Paramount needs to get on that shit.
