Jonah H (de) wrote: Let's face it: no one is going to go see this film for the story. Whoever says they are is lying through their teeth. After all, the film's plot is not very good anyway. However, the chemistry between all the characters you are supposed to root for give the viewer reason to follow along. Aaron Paul's performance in this film is really good. Throughout the film, I did not see him as Jesse from Breaking Bad. Plus he showed me that he can carry a film on his shoulders and be a leading man. Additionally, the performance by Imogen Poots was actually not bad. Now onto the action sequences. The action sequences are amazingly shot. The car chase sequences are intense. There is a tremendous sense of danger. The reason for this is that there is NO CGI whatsoever. Everything you see in this film is real. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this is a stuntman's movie. Last but not least, this movie feels like playing a Need for Speed video game. They perfectly captured the spirit of the Need for Speed video games. Overall, I had tons of fun with this film and I look forward to seeing what Aaron Paul does next with his career.

MF J (nl) wrote: An excellent comedy filled with great ideas, a great scenario and some very interesting characters and situations. A pearl in an ocean of average random films, this one stands out proudly as a creative and inventive love story. Thumbs up!

MarcAlexander T (gb) wrote: The topic alone drew me to this movie since I knew basically none of the actors save one. For that I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how a subject matter which might otherwise have been slapsticked to death was handled with believable tenderness and drew on a strong emotional bond to the main character which at times was strong enough to draw tears. What surprised me most is how straight (pardon the pun) this subject was dealt with; instead of the comedic romp it might very easily have been made into, the film took the longer, more difficult but in the end rewarding road of dealing with its base premise seriously and managed to carry the picture in this way to the very end. It is a minimalistic film, with very little action and indeed at times even less said, but what IS said makes sense, is believable and speaks to us neither pedantically or lightly. The cinematography is a bit touch and go at points and will not be to every man's liking, but it's all part of the ride and it gets us there probably a lot better than most flashy, high-toned Hollywood productions would.

Teddy V (kr) wrote: This film contains some quintessential performances by Penn and Spacey, and even serves to redeem seriously second and third tier actors like Chazz Palminteri (level two) and Robin Wright, Garry Shandling, and even Meg Ryan (level three). All that and Anna Paquin plays basically a coked up run-away underage hooker. This film has basically everything you could want to see about a bunch of drug-addled, complete misogynistic prick, Hollywood scumbag producers. Brilliant.

Salman V (gb) wrote: Never since Dr Strangelove does a dark comedy managed to engrossed its audience, but boy did it delivered!

The Critic (fr) wrote: Filmmaker Trey Parker delivers a very different piece of cinema, to say the least, that is loosely based on a true story and made with a very small budget. Filled with odd song and dance routines, Parker (who wrote the musical numbers) leads a talentless cast and is the film's true redeeming feature. Offers the occasional laugh, but little else.

Daniel S (ca) wrote: I had never heard of this, until my one friend said it was one of his all time favorite films, so i checked it out, expecting it to be great, but sadly never rises above just a basic drama, all the acting is good, sinatra, martin, maclaine, but the story is nothing great or new, and the ending sucked, god it really pissed me off

Corey n (us) wrote: This is a great comedy. Starring Tim Conway and Don Knotts as two bumbling detectives trying to solve a mystery in a haunted house. Sort of a Sherlock Holmes spoof. Knotts and Conway both have great comedy chemistry in this. Full of laughs and a fun story. Well worth the watch.

Bert P (us) wrote: This film is a reference when it comes to film noir, with a great plot and dito performances.
