AW C (nl) wrote: Although I wish the characters had more depth, this scifi western thriller is an entrancing and exhilarating film.

Lilianetty l (gb) wrote: An open mind movie for open mind people (not fan/freak) based on a book of the same name. It has black/dark comedy, a bit of blood/violence (kind of comical) and a very twisted ending. Is worth the watch if you are bored or need some 7th Art inspiration on this genre. - 3 stars of 5 (sometimes is slow and the score is very saint...not my taste of music).August 8, 2013 (review).

Lee H (mx) wrote: A nice little film from the Disney fairies series that although not as good as the 1st Tinkerbell, is an improvement over the lacklustre 2nd.

Paul P (au) wrote: A frustrating, insightful and subtle film. The politics involved are handled beautifully as well as the race relations. It doesn't pick sides, just shows the actual human beings who have to struggle through it and the endless complexity that is there lives. Malkovich is in top form, one of his best performances. His character doesn't go through a transformation but a culture shock. Seeing him struggle to hold onto the more structured lifestyle he's accustom to is wonderfully executed. Jessica Haines is just as good playing the wounded and endlessly fascinating daughter. Her desire to live in peace amidst the chaos is haunting. A movie that is dealing with human emotions and decisions that don't make complete sense to the viewer and will frustrate some. But its handled so well that i felt like i needed to read Coetzee's book right after the credits finish.

Laura M (ru) wrote: So strong, and at times even literary. Loved it, even as it weirded me out. In 2011, I think it is also an amusingly dated film, exploring issues that viewers saw as heavy hitting back in the day. All hail Tilda.

Michael H (fr) wrote: Cromwell is a movie that was shown in my socials studies class about Oliver Cromwell the guy that was part of the english court system. He is also the man responsible for taking down King Charles I and getting him guilotined. Alec Guiness does a fine job as Charles. Its accurate enough to earn the attention of the battle scenes which accurately show Charles winning a few at first then the rebelion winning more. But my favorite scene in the movie is the courtroom scene of the trail of King Charles I. Greatly made scene. But Cromwell is too underwhelming to get a higher rating.69/100 C+

Andy T (gb) wrote: To Catch A Thief may be predictable in its main plot compared to the interesting premise that's always present in a Hitchcock film, but it moves along at a solid pace and provides some excellent dialogue between its two leads while doing so.

Roger G (br) wrote: Yep. Has the feel of a B&W on TV that I could have fallen asleep to when I was young - but maybe that's too harsh. It's a psychological thriller (but just doesn't come off totally thrilling, if you know what I mean). Characters are of that age (in entertainment) when someone getting killed before your very eyes deserved a quick - darn! even if you knew them. Not relevent 10 seconds later (and you notice). But if you love old sci-fi go ahead and put this on your list. The actors are skilled enough that it's not the least bit painful to watch, and there's a nifty hard to kill robot (representing a robot army) that shoots a death ray.

Justin B (au) wrote: SLEAZE + CHEESE. It's like a Troma movie but good.

Lee M (ca) wrote: The scenes of family conflict are sketchily dramatized. We never get to the place where the two parts of Sam's personality meet -- the devoted son and sharp-dealing criminal.

Stephen M (mx) wrote: Silly and entertaining. The film lags on after a while and everything gets lumped in together towards the end in a mishmash of absurdity. Classic 60's style cinematography is a treat, editing is sloppy at best. The story really could use some refining and better rounded characters. The whole feel of the film looks like a lot of fun and is just to be enjoyed.
