Jeremy G (it) wrote: Friggin good movie, Robin Williams delivers a stellar performance in one of his last roles, though it's more of a serious role and not funny all the time.

Jonny H (kr) wrote: i have this docu-drama on dvd. its got a lot of suspense, and mystery, and the whole plot about escaping from an 'unescapable castle' is great. and its based [perhaps not strongly tho] on a true story.

Luke S (jp) wrote: The two towers is a spectacular movie, with amazing action sequences and very emotional moments, that leaves you amazed with its own epicness.

Cade H (nl) wrote: Steve Martin can be enjoyable to watch in some roles and rather annoying in others. Luckily in this film he played a funny, likable guy that worked great with Goldie Hawn. The premise of the film was great and the whole ordeal the 2 main characters have to work through in the film was classic. The whole time I kept wondering what was going to happen, were they going to get discovered and it made for an enthralling movie. There were multiple funny moments and characters and although the ending was bland, it was a fun film to watch.

Jesse R (kr) wrote: This wasn't such a great movie. Kinda strange in a way. It does star Tim Thomerson from Iron Eagle who played Col. Ted Masters, so that's kinda a plus.

Bryan G (kr) wrote: Leave it up to Hollywood to take America's fear of nuclear holocaust and make multiple films using this theme. Ray Milland's Panic in Year Zero is one of the few "fear of the bomb" films that didn't feature giant bugs or mutated people as the menace. Instead, here is a film that tries to be as realistic as possible with what might happen after a nuclear attack, by showing how quickly so called civilized parts of the world can become uncivilized out of desperation. The movie is a low-budget feature, but it uses this to its advantage. Milland was smart to keep the film from out-stepping its limitations. I also liked that the film didn't try and show this event on a global scale, but rather focus on a family of four (Dad, mom, son and daughter) and their difficult journey to just try and survive. This lead to more realistic suspense and tension in the film. Ray Milland also played the father, Harry, and his character can be unlikable at times. I've read other reviews on the film, and a lot of them interpret Harry as an aggressive and almost inhuman character. I don't think that everyone in this situation would act like this, but I would imagine there would be a lot of people who would quickly adapt into "we're on our own" mentality. I must admit that Panic in Year Zero felt like it could have been a short film, rather than the 90 minute run it ends up being. Though most of the situations that this family finds themselves in are effective, it began to feel a little repetitive after awhile. And I didn't like that the film degenerated into a revenge flick about two thirds of the way in, and then closed itself on a "these are good people" ending. Aside from those complaints, and the soundtrack that was mostly out of place in the film, Panic in Year Zero is a decent science fiction film. After seeing so many nuclear bomb films that resulted in mutations, it was nice to see one that tried to focus on basic humanity's struggle with each other during this time, rather than some sort of monster. I just wish the film's messages weren't so misguided.
