Tara R (kr) wrote: The characters were very likable and great, the story was alright but a bit rather cliche and I feel as if their were something missing from the development half way through the film.I must say though, I loved the marabous and that evil lizard.

Lindy L (ag) wrote: Enjoyable. Though I'm not quite sure why it made it on a Top 10 of the Decade (or even of 2009).

Sanjay K (jp) wrote: impactful movie with a disturbing theme of terrorism spreading in india. specially in kashmir. one of the best movie from vidhu vinod chopra.

Korana K (au) wrote: Scary. Surely worth seeing, stunning performances of all cast.

MF J (ag) wrote: A very nice film about how some of the most unusual people we meet tend to bring us the most incredible slices of life, teach us the greatest lessons we will ever need to learn & help us think outside of the box. Great performance from Joe Pesci & Brendan Fraser who for once doesn't look like a complete idiot but succede in being touching.

Carl S (au) wrote: Delightful. Touching. Heart-warming. And funny!

Jens T (ru) wrote: I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang is based on real events about the war veteran James Allen (Paul Muni) who was arrested for a crime he didn't commit, and send to a southern working camp known as "The Chain Gangs" which are infamous for their brutality. One day James makes a run for it and escapes. He changes his name to Allen James and become a successful construction manager. But for how long can he keep his real identity a secret? Paul Muni give us a great performance. And the plot is also very thrilling, and it's honesty about the prison system makes it feel like a predecessor to Midnight Express. It's the perfect pre-code honesty that makes this movie so great, and to a lesser essence realistic. Thumbs up.

Michael O (es) wrote: It had a nice slice of life rhythm and not much else to engage a modern filmgoer such as myself. Rene's 30's work is a bit too simple and primitive for these young (yet horridly blind) eyes. It's one of those movies where the best scenes are rightfully included in the trailer. Ho hum. Yet wow are the songs catchy and unforgettable. In all seriousness I'll be singing the main tune for days!

Andy D (jp) wrote: 4 stars. Gory, action packed movie.

Natalie P (nl) wrote: This movie was alot better then I thought it would be. The storyline was little dumb just like any low budget horror movie. However the death sceens were really good. Great old skool special effects. I was very pleased to see that damage being done. Not most horror movies now adays where they cut away and you dont see any of the action. Wont say I would watch this movie again but it was entertaining for the night. If you only watch this movie just make sure it for the gore sceens and not the storyline.

Barry H (ag) wrote: The movie is reasonable but i'd have to say maybe more could of been done and doesn't have much of a re-watchability factor

Matthew C (br) wrote: Ford blends the woes and tribulations of all families with the triumphs of the human spirit. Walter Pidgeon, with his awesome voice, is spectacular as the spiritual leader of the valley and Maureen O'Hara is winning as well. But it's really an all star cast with Donald Crisp will stealing the show. I love the way these people talk and they're so lovable you can't help but feel every inch of their tragic and inspiring journey. The glimpse into their lives is a true masterpiece and an example for all family dramas no matter what era.
