Matty S (br) wrote: This near perfect film is likely to never gain a large audience because it is can easily be shelved into the "Queer Film" category. And, that is a shame because Alain Guiraudie's 2013 movie is an expertly crafted study eroticism, danger and ritual formed into an intensely fascinating psychological thriller. It reminds the viewer of the magic of Hitchcock and Chabrol with a nod to Genet. Normally the level of graphic sexuality found here would feel like "French Extreme" but thanks to tight editing and expert storytelling --- these scenes instead feel vibrant, erotic and necessary. A truly disturbing and entertaining thriller that is more intent on commenting on the complexities of human nature than on the ever-present foreboding sense of terror growing as our lead character cruises a gay beach. Guiraudie also deserves credit for not time stamping the era in which the film takes place. One suspects this film is set in the early to mid-1990's but that is never made entirely clear. A brilliant and unexpected film not to be missed.

Jason D (us) wrote: Oh shit, son! The crazy Japanese phone ghost is back, but this time, she is killing for no apparent reason. Random people are being targeted now in a slough of murders where the recipients receive calls from themselves that occur mere moments before their impending death. Had a couple of spooky moments, and tried desperately to obtain that unique Takashi Miike form of storytelling but manages to drag on and on even worse than the first film. All in all, this is very boring teen horror. Makes the first one look amazing.

Maria T (de) wrote: It wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either. The acting was mostly ok but the dialogues seemed kind of... wrong. One thing that stayed with me is the unusual path the story-telling followed

Charlie S (it) wrote: A surprisingly mature take on the subject, though it lacks a clear or strong central character to keep the story focused.

Sylvester K (au) wrote: I did not enjoy this movie at all, the film makes me feel unease. An independent movie can use some better camera work than this one. The whole film is formulaic and ridiculous, too melodramatic for me. I don't think I laughed during the film at all, it's so dull... The acting was really bad as well, except for De Sando who did a good job at being a stereotypical guido. Nick Scotti is a real eye candy however, but that's the only perk of watching this film. Another con is that the film seems to drag on and on, aiming at no where. Plus the excessive swearing was not pleasing at all.

Oona B (de) wrote: cheesy - tired of folks copying other people's works (wants to be reservoir dog like); tired of the stupid gangsta/mobster talk. ok music, for background music, a i pack my belongings.

Grant F (fr) wrote: A classic adventure movie, punctuated by the enigmatic David Bowie. It features just enough weird to keep Jim Henson happy. #Nostalgia

Jacob B (au) wrote: Neeson is awesome as always and the crime/mystery genre his past few action flicks have had make it interesting at the very least, but it's a tad too disturbing and dark for me and the suprising lack of action throughout was kind of disappointing.C+

Justin H (ru) wrote: It's rude, crude, bloody, and high paced. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and anyone who doesn't take themselves too seriously just might enjoy it as well.
