It is absolutely incredible what JJ Abrams and crew have been able to do with this series. The casting is even better reflected with this movie than it was in 2009's "Star Trek." While many people will gripe about the choice of the villain, I look at it this way - It worked for The Joker. This movie was an absolute knockout. If you take it in the context set from the first Abrams' trek, it makes sense. The military build up of Starfleet after the decimation of Vulcan, the seeking out of the Botany Bay, and the incredible portrayal of Khan by Benedict Cumberbatch. Some fans may nitpick, but they're most likely the ones that never stop doing that anyways. 5 out of 5 for this Trekker.

Walter M (mx) wrote: In "Outcast," Cathal(James Nesbitt) has struck a deal to get powerful tattoos for his hunt, along with assistance and guidance from Liam(Ciaran McMenamin) but the laird(James Cosmo) draws the line at talking to the dead. Meanwhile, Mary(Kate Dickie) decorates the new apartment she shares with her teenage son Fergal(Niall Bruton) with sigils that include some of her own blood. As a protective mother, she warns him about the dangers of the opposite sex but to no avail when he meets Petronella(Hanna Stanbridge) and her brother Tomatsk(Josh Whitelaw) before being introduced to Ally(Karen Gillan) at the swings. Yes, yes, I know you have been down the path of supernatural hormonal teenagers plenty of times before but "Outcast" overcomes that tired old formula, not only due to the quality performances of its leads, but also because of its creepy atmosphere.(There is some gore here for those interested in that sort of thing.) In fact, the magic and the reality of the council estates provide a neat juxtaposition, in showing how much has been forgotten over the years and just lurking beneath the surface. Another way of looking at this setting is as a trap for young people, as apparently there are an endless amount of ways for parents to screw up their kids.

Andrew T (br) wrote: I rented this movie at a Redbox. It cost a dollar and I paid a dollar too much for it. You can't rate this movie. I didn't even wait to finish the movie to start writing the review. I joined Rotten Tomatoes to tell the world how absolutely awful this movie is. They couldn't have spent more than $500 on the entire movie....NEVER AGAIN

Nick B (nl) wrote: I'd never heard of this movie before but it was a bit of dumb fun and an ok way to past the time. Weird seeing bill from bill and ted in another movie, some funny bits some really stupid bits but the effects were pretty good especially for a movie made in 1993

Parker R (br) wrote: It has a grim and morbid feel about it that is able to push it past its sometimes overused direction, but only to a certain extent.
