Cecily B (br) wrote: Really awful movie, thought it was going to be more interesting because it is rare to see these movies with a male lead that becomes possessed instead of a little girl but it did nothing for me. A few jumpy moments maybe but that could have been because I had my volume too high.

Byford T (au) wrote: The name of the movie gets me already, "examined life", that echoes with Socrates's "An unexamined life is not worth living."The simplest documentary movie I have ever seen. A camera, 6 interviews with philosophers, done. Interviews conducted no in the air-conditioned offices but on the streets, in the park, in the airport departure halls, in the filthy landfill, really help audience to make the connection between philosophy and life.1. Knowing others. Once you think you know you know them, you are ready to kill them. Oh they are the Axis of evil, let's drop some bombs.2. Immediate gratification. A lot of people have been thought and fueled by promises of immediate gratification in thought, in food, in junk. It's a way of dressing the wound of non-meaning. There are some quick grasp for meaning, for god, for nation, for patriotism.3. Cosmopolitanism. We are responsible collectively for each other. And it's okay to be different. They care about everybody but not in a way they want everybody to be like them. 4. Ecology. See perfection in imperfection. It's like love, you do not idealize your lover, you accept that person despite all the failures, ugly points. And that's how we should see the nature. Make use of the trash.

James L (de) wrote: I thought that for a modern Sandler film it still had a lot of great feel good moments. The chemistry between Barrymore and Sandler was believable but not quite as good as a film like 50 First Dates. This shows that maybe Sandler's mid to late 2000's run may have just been a mid life crisis and we could be in store for some movies that mirror the charm of his early work (The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, e.t.c) To conclude i'd say it's basically the plot scenario of having to go on an awkward family vacation from"Just Go With It" but done with better leads and some of that early Sandler charm that seems to be lacking in his later work.

John M (au) wrote: The film is not as gory as many other brilliant Gialli, but the manner in which the murders are carried out is more than a bit nasty. It is well-written and enjoyable film that will have you guessing right up until the end. It has a good storyline, good performances and music.

Geoff P (kr) wrote: Man, I love this film. It's one of those many films that if it's on telly, I'll watch it. Tells the tale of the battle of wills and seapower between the German pocket battleship, the Admiral Graf Spee, and the British seaforce sent to sink her. A classic.

Rick Q (br) wrote: a witty and often quirky script, and charming performances from jean arthur and gary cooper, help make "mr. deeds goes to town" a fun and entertaining film.

Hunter W (ru) wrote: You go into the film wanting to see the "shower scene" and leave being impressed by far more. The Horror genre has many thanks to give to Psycho.
