David L (jp) wrote: Cutie and the Boxer is both an exploration of love and art, it has some very poignant things to say about personalities in relationships (similar personalities repel, but different attract and that rings true), it has some very romantic moments and the whole last act is pure art, but the film also has some struggles in the technical area - the pacing is weird, the beginning is a bit dreary and the film feels more like a drama than an actual documentary. But at the end of the day, Cutie and the Boxer (it should have been called Cutie and Bully, by the way) is a beautiful, meaningful film and a very much deserved Oscar nominee.
Private U (nl) wrote: I'm surprised by the negative feedback about this movie. For me, the slow pace is exactly where the beauty lies in this film. It is smart, meditative, and doesn't shy away from the topic of aging and loneliness. This film explores the nature of love and grief, the challenges and possibilities of re-entering the world after losing someone. If you like action and blockbuster movies, then it's not for you, but if you appreciate subtlety and nuance, then I highly recommend this film. Yes, it's sad, and it doesn't go for the happy ending, which is why it is not "sentimental" as one reviewer said. It's raw and unforgiving, in the way good films are.

Caleb W (br) wrote: Bridges acting and the soundtrack alone make it worth the watch. Also a great story.
Vulcan S (br) wrote: with the soulless CGI sets, poor direction and forgettable plot, Goemon sure is one of the worst movies ive ever encountered yet, tasteless and joyless to watch

Robby R (kr) wrote: Intriguing flick that takes place on what could be a planet from "Star Wars". However, the film is rooted in real life; that is bear-bones existance, where animals could be your only friends for a while, seeing how finding a mate is a chore. I kept yearning for an escape to the city, but for the title character, it's a little more complicated than that.
Ron R (jp) wrote: Wtf? I'm not sure what I saw... disjointed plot, all over the place.... Not a fan of the depiction of adoption either.
Jacob M (ag) wrote: With an Oscar worthy performance from Nicolas Cage and a great soundtrack, Bringing Out the Dead is a mesmerizing and inescapable beautiful nightmare. A deep and brooding exploration into a psyche on the brink of emotional collapse.

Zack B (ca) wrote: One of my dad's favorites but definetely not one of mine. It wasn't a bad movie, but I just never really cared for it that much. Dreyfuss and Nolte both were solid, but the story was a little weak.
