Allen R (nl) wrote: I had never heard of this film until I saw a used copy, very cheap & picked it up. I didn't have high expectations, but it looked & sounded interesting. Interesting is a VERY accurate statement about this little low-budget horror film. At times very creepy & deeply disturbing, while not perfect SHATTERED LIVES is a very good film. The main weaknesses were some mediocre acting, especially from the little girl & the director seamed to lose his way a couple of times. The budget constraints rarely showed & the special effects were good. The "dolls" that become "little person clowns" kind of creeped me out. A couple of near brilliant, somewhat Lynchian scenes really lift this one above standard low-budget fare. Some creative editing (also done by the writer-director Carl Lindbergh) was used quite well. Recommended to fans of psychological horror films.

Frank V (ag) wrote: This is a great movie that explains the inner battles you go through the longest bicycle endurance Race. Very well produced and the music sound track is very well put together,

Libeth F (de) wrote: This female-driven buddy comedy is a nice change of pace. Besides, I love the cast, especially Lynch who shines in everything she does.

Theo M (es) wrote: I like the fact that this horror movie really has a consistent storyline. The part about the fireman is fiction, btw.

Brendan N (jp) wrote: Monster mayhem which is a lot of fun. It was initially frowned upon during its release like most of sommers films. Yes it is an aliens clone but who really cares, at least it isn't a remake. The film takes the guys with guns and creates an intriguing concept. The cast is full of recognisable international stars and sure the script is a little light on background but at least they seem to be having fun. Treat Williams was quite good in a very rare lead role. Stephen sommers is a great story creator but he can't write dialogue. The lines are so badly written its delivered with cheese. The action is relentless and its good to see a monster movie that studios allowed a horror rating hire then the usual teen. Good if you are a horror buff but don't expect your friends to like the film as much as you

Arseniy V (au) wrote: Is this film SO good, that it inspires me to overcome my senseless urge for calling it "Little Man's Taint"? Clearly not. But to be fair, it is a pretty powerful urge. The film IS quite good however. A bit too light perhaps, but certainly not soulless.

Al M (jp) wrote: One of the best (and often overlooked) Carry Ons. The conveyor belt scene at the end is great

Charles P (fr) wrote: Sweet Smell of Success is wall-to-wall with excellence, from its moody photography to its crafty direction to its first-rate performances.

Bryan C (nl) wrote: Bob Hope goes straight with a rather unlikable character and pulls off a nice little biopic. It takes a long time for the kids to show up, but the highlight is when Hope dances with James Cagney (reprising his George Cohen character). Nominated script by Hope regulars Jack Rose and director Melville Shavelson.

Ian S (ca) wrote: This movie/ Documentry is the ACTUAL EVENTS that happened on THE MEMPIS BELLE with camaras on the plane and with intercom messages as well how they got away with it i will never know...recorded on its 25 and last mission

Dann M (ca) wrote: "I have a competition in me." There Will Be Blood is an incredibly compelling character drama from Paul Thomas Anderson. Loosely based on the Upton Sinclair novel Oil!, the story follows and oil prospector named Daniel Plainview who attempts to buy up a small California town and build a pipeline to the coast. Daniel Day-Lewis gives an amazingly captivating performance that makes the film. And Paul Thomas Anderson creates a very atmospheric setting with his minimalistic directing style. However, the film does tend to drag at times and goes off on tangents. And, Day-Lewis has such tremendous screen-presence that some of the other performances get overshadowed. Nevertheless, There Will Be Blood is a powerful film about corruption and greed.

Paul D (gb) wrote: This movie really screwed up the series. Having said that, I still found it to be somewhat enjoyable. In my mind though, I just can't see it as cannon! Lots of people hated it, and it sure wasn't the Terminator sequel that we deserved, but I was able to just go with it like it was some kind of Earth 2 timeline and enjoy it anyway.
