When an African dictator jails her husband, Shandurai goes into exile in Italy, studying medicine and keeping house for Mr. Kinsky, an eccentric English pianist and composer. She lives in one room of his Roman palazzo. He besieges her with flowers, gifts, and music, declaring passionately that he loves her, would go to Africa with her, would do anything for her. "What do you know of Africa?," she asks, then, in anguish, shouts, "Get my husband out of jail!" The rest of the film plays out the implications of this scene and leaves Shandurai with a choice.

(kr) wrote: This efficient little chiller is about a group of college kids, responsable for getting a nerdish loner in a coma. His bloodthirsty brain wants revenge and out of body experiences, possession, mayhem and panic, follow. This ain't a very original movie, but 'Shrooms' director Paddy Breatnach knows the genre and Arielle Kebbel is very easy on the eyes.
(fr) wrote: A life story of a drug addict who after childhood in a family of a violent father adolescence in a foster home and youth in a prison boils on a mix of violence and murder. After having a ' lightning' he has a revenge on thugs who had killed his wife, disfigures himself and dies. Hard stuff I will never like.

My big gripe is that Lucas was such a tool that he didn't know Winona Ryder was into him the whole time. I'd say Winona was way hotter than the girl from the Goonies. Sometimes it takes getting sacked by way bigger football players to knock some sense into you.

(es) wrote: Perhaps the greatest performance by main star Michael Douglas as a made redundant defence worker who has a mental breakdown.Douglas plays De Fens who one day cracks under the stress of an LA traffic jam.A succession of situations envelops with ever more elaborate scenes of violence and death.De Fens begins the film as a bloke in his late thirties, wearing a shirt and tie. Hardly your everyday murderer. In scenes that resemble the Death Wish films Douglas takes out his frustration at his failed marriage and financial situation at seemingly random people. All he wants to do is get home! The LA traffic gridlock reminded me of my home city. I could empathise with some of De Fens frustrations especially when trying to get home via publuc transport after a days work. However some of his actions are extreme to say the least.I have not visited this film for many years. It is one of those films that appears under the radar as such. It was a part of my old VHS collection it's that old!Directed by Joel Schumacher who is probably better known for a couple of non spectacular Batman films in the 1990s.The film also stars Robert Duvall as an LA cop with an interesting last day before his retirement and an even more interesting wife!

But lame.Lame and labored, w extra boring sauce. The cute kids keep it friendly tho - add half a star.We all want to like this.Great talent wasted on ppl phoning it in. The script is missing the funny and the jokes.Something to fall asleep to on a lazy afternoon. 2.5 out of 5
