Shawn P (ca) wrote: This remake of "House on Sorority Row from the early 1980's" is not half as cheesy as the original was. Although it was a good B movie for it's time it wasn't memorable at all. The remake is gore, tits, and screaming. It actually reminded me alot of a 2009 version of Slumber Party Massacre! I like horror movies and i enjoyed watching this movie, even though the deaths were predictable i did jump out of my seats once. The humor was good too at times from the lead bitch of the Sorority House. Rumer Willis was annoying, crying and whining all through the movie, it's unfortunate she's so ugly and looks like a potato head (literally) LOL Worth seeing if not in the theater then at least on DVD

Kian Pang L (gb) wrote: Although the plot was quite simple, the strong acting from the lead actresses (esp Yann Yann) manages to make 881 a very enjoyable watch.Surprisingly, its also quite moving and by tugging the right strings, manages to make me teary eyed towards the end.Though its billed as a comedy, some jokes (esp the 'Techno' ones) do fall a bit flat for me.

Nico S (ag) wrote: This is one of the most gorgeous movies I've ever seen; and that's not a testament to just the cinematographer but to Akira kurosawa as well because he manages to make every shot ooze out life. Each shot tells a story in itself and that's where the real artistic beauty of the film lies. Other than that, the writing is pretty solid and accompanied with some tremendous performances, especially from Tatsuya Nakadai and Meiko Harada.

Gregory M (br) wrote: It was a directional masterpiece, a visually pleasing movie, that was mostly narrated by the director and his choices. It was quite fun and entertaining. Ralph Fiennes was shining in this one. It was aesthetically pleasing and quite fun,but it is to be watched only once.

Ilja S (es) wrote: A strange comedy that is carried on the shoulders of the great cast and a well written story. Enjoyable, funny and timeless.
