Trina D (mx) wrote: I saw it not expecting more than the brief summary and WOW! What a movie! It had romance, yes, and humor, absolutely, but it also had mystery which was unexpected. I dare you not to smile when you see an old man getting ready for his first date, asking for advice, talking to himself in the mirror. Also, Martin Landau makes acting look as easy as breathing. I'm not sure if he's just channeling the old man nuances from his own experience or what, but dang, it's refreshing to see someone with his talent.

Don S (fr) wrote: I liked the original, as well as the short story it came from. I can't recall if I saw the sequel, which could go much towards what I thought of it if I did. I'll try to hit the positives instead of dwelling on the negative, which are many. The effects are okay. Eva Mendes looks great. And there you have it :)

When I finally received it whenever I wanted to watch some how didnt feel too. After 3 Months I finally thought ah well lets watch it and I was really surprised. Its not all about War its a Romance. About last 35 minutes are on field, the rest its all you hear about the War and the main Plot is focused on the Love Story between a Woman (Rekha) who is already engaged and a Man who is not her Fiance (Rakesh Roshan)Her Fiance played by Sanjeev KumarIn my Opinion Sanjay Khan or Rajesh Khanna could have played the character which Rakesh Roshan played better. If you ask me he was never a good actor. And his directing rarely original. Mostly remakes of "Bollywood" or imitation of "Hollywood" such as Koyee Milgaya Bollywoods answer on Spielbergs E.T. The songs of the Movie by Kishore, WOW! Frankly rating this Movie I dont know. Lets just add it in the Basket.MemoryIts strange when I bought this Movie or think of it, there is a quote I remember someone said decades ago.Ye mera, nahi ye mera heChuuuupppp mein kya Kashmir hun?

Gordon H (us) wrote: Told using a nonlinear narrative through James Brown's stream of consciousness, including asynchronous events and frequent breaks in the fourth wall, 'Get on Up' is a biographical drama film about the life of the singer. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Chadwick Boseman as Brown, Nelsan Ellis as Bobby Byrd, Dan Aykroyd as Ben Bart, Viola Davis as Susie Brown, Keith Robinson as Baby Roy, and Octavia Spencer as Aunt Honey.I loved Chadwick Boseman in '42,' the Jackie Robinson biographical drama film from a year ago, so I thought I would give this one a try. Bad idea. Boseman does a good job in the role, but the "nonlinear narrative" told through "Brown's stream of consciousness" is just odd. The film jumps back and forth through Brown's life and is just really out there. I didn't care for it---at all. 1 and a half stars.
