Bill Hicks: Sane Man

Bill Hicks: Sane Man

The amazing comedian Bill Hicks passed away in 1994, but his legend continues to grow. Sane Man was filmed before Bill recorded "Dangerous," his first comedy album, and is a turning point in Hicks' career. It was the first complete Hicks show ever filmed and Bill pulled out all the stops for the cameras. Completely focused, a newly-sober Hicks paces the stage like a wild animal riffing effortless

Richard F (es) wrote: Some good interviews and insight into the 1990 world cup campaign. Unfortunately, this is let down by the incessant use of close camera footage of some random bloke in england socks kicking and dribbling a football. Incredibly annoying.

Jesse M (es) wrote: great comeback story, graphics were shaky but the plot made up for it

Jason P (kr) wrote: Fascinating characters, even when they are unlikeable and unsympathetic. Kidman does better with her character than I would have expected, and it's fun to see Jack Black in a serious role that still allows him to be funny. Baumbach is consistently able to create highly dysfunctional characters that are thoroughly entertaining to watch and that make us feel better about own own neuroses.

Jack C (ca) wrote: Woody Allen has always been a quirky fella, but Annie Hall shows him at his funniest and most human. A cultural staple in particular due to Allen's frequent breaking of the fourth wall, from which Ferris Bueller and many other films since could only borrow. What Allen does best is his ability to integrate his funniest jokes seamlessly into the plot, but he also deserves credit for crafting a real, human relationship with Diane Keaton. Most rom coms involve a pairing that builds in excitement, meets an obstacle, and finally ends tragically or perfectly, whereas Annie Hall opts instead for the usual ups and downs of relationships and has no dramatic conclusion. Diane Keaton deserves her Oscar for her fantastic performance and Woody Allen his for a terrific script.
