Three high school virgins, suspended from school on a bogus graffiti charge, flee to the inner city in an attempt to live out the plot of The Catcher in the Rye - a book they neither have read nor understand. BINDLESTIFFS documents their struggles along the way as they surrender their virginities to vagrants, prostitutes, and crack fiends. Hot on their tail is Charlie, the deranged school security guard. Under the impression that the boys are planning a school shooting, he takes the law into his own hands to stop them and save America.

(ca) wrote: Jim Carrey is hilarious with his customary physical humor, but he can't do much to compensate for gags that are mostly poorly conceived or just ridiculous, not to mention a plot that borders on complete implausibility and is all about artificial conflicts.
(ru) wrote: You will be amazed by this movies ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time; and Keke Palmer is just great. There are some flaws, but 75% of the movie is on par.

(nl) wrote: This movie is a mess, you cant just have candy for both guys and girls and think that people will like a movie. The story is quite fun but the execution is horrendus. The production value is incredible low and the only thing I assume is that this looked good on the paper and that this is the first film of the director, but boy that wasn't the case either, He started doing films in the 70's. And as far as the actors/candy goes, its below useless, but very fun I have to admit, the whole movie sucks ass big time, but I really wanted to find out how it ended so it did something right, fun twist and turns all over the movie and you dont know who to like because everyone is a dick to the other so no one is really likeable, I like that thinking of it, If they hired a good director and worked big time with the script, this could be something. And what the hell was the scary dancing in the end about???

(br) wrote: Being a runner, I enjoyed this film and learned alot about Steve Prefontaine and Bill Bowerman and the running phenomenon that took place at the University of Oregon in the 1970's, as well as creation of Nike. The film felt a little dated, like it was made in the 1990's (which it was), and that could have been better. But a good performance by Jared Leto nonetheless.
(gb) wrote: I don't know why I enjoy this movie so much, but I do. I really enjoyed the romance and the humor.
(ru) wrote: Rather slow paced comedy/drama with 2 super lead roles in Richard Harris(especially, who stands out from the rest) as an Irish immigrant drunk & retired Navy officer sent to a basic retirement appartment in the sweltering heat of Florida and Robert Duvall an retired Cuban tee-total straight laced barber who find friendship. Absolutely 1 of those movies thats so easy 2 watch. Takes you on a ride with 2 virtually opposite characters at the peak of their lives. Looks like a movie for the older generation from the cover & write up on dvd case but its far from it,Definately under-rated movie that did not have much publicity but then again Neither does a lot of our favourite films we find from websites like RT.

(au) wrote: It was a unique ensemble of actors, but beyond that there wasn't much to see. (First and only viewing - 3/28/2014)

(us) wrote: Beyond preposterous and I loved it! XXX is full of beautiful set-pieces and Vin Diesel makes a likable spy agent. One of the best brainless action films of 2000s.

(br) wrote: In 1960s The Bronx a maths teacher is murdered with arrows, a dangerous felon is released from prison seemingly intent on starting where he left off, and the biggest thug of the neighbourhood has renounced violence and is embracing the civil rights movement, inspired by Martin Luther King. The slice-of-life realism, combined with the broad and jarring surrealism, of FIVE CORNERS makes it an unusual, beguiling and enthralling spectacle, enmeshing its characters in a web of social dilemma and out-and-out weirdness. It's difficult to extricate a coherent message from the mesmerising sequences, though it certainly offers food for thought about the nature of violence and need for a response. Though, if you're not in the mood for thinking at least there are penguins. A strangely satisfying, defiantly unusual movie with great performances from Tim Robbins, Jodie Foster and the genuinely threatening John Tuturro. Unfairly unknown.
