A atmosfera meio dramtica de The Tortured s atrapalha o desenvolvimento do filme. Defeitos e qualidades parte, no posso negar que o final do filme me surpreendeu. Sem maiores spoilers, achei muito legal ter um final diferente do que era o esperado.

(kr) wrote: In Prototype, Dr. Carl Forrester (the awesome Christopher Plummer) has just perfected his government-backed research project, the creation of a gifted robot named Michael (played by a young David Morse) who has now been able to walk amongst the public and interact with humans. This breakthrough leads to the interference of the military who take Michael away from Dr. Forrester and conduct tests involving weaponry. After this discovery, Dr. Forrester breaks Michael out of his lab and runs away with him to a secluded house near the doctor's old university. The military begins an all out search for the two of them, which Michael and Dr. Forrester create an even stronger bond that is reminiscent of father and son. Do NOT let the movie poster fool you, this film is in NO WAY a horror or science fiction film. In fact, Prototype comes off as a very, VERY tame TV movie that someone like Disney would have shown. In fact, there is NOTHING remotely scientific seen throughout this film. No robotics, no sci-fi violence, no special effects whatsoever. In fact, there's a complete lack of tension or sense of dread throughout this overly tame film. This is the complete opposite side to a balls-out, moronic robotic action film like Transformers, that is all story and plot and no substance or eye candy that enhances the spectacular. If one could find middle ground between Transformers and Prototype, a much better movie would be seen. Aside from that, the story is great, and Morse and Plummer are terrific to watch, but geez fellas; a little bit of action would not have hurt.

The first time I watched this film was in a film theory class on a big screen and it was love at first sight. The film falls closer onto the art-house side rather than a standard narrative film so many people won't enjoy it but to me F for Fake is a bundle of fun.
(mx) wrote: Major Dundee played by Charlton Heston is an officer looking for a glorious moment, that would give him a shot at becoming more than an jail officer. Eventually he find his moment in hunting down the Apache leader Sierra Charriba and kill him. His need of a posse rough enough for the mission, makes him pick out a gang of Confederate POWs led by Captain Ben Tyreen (Richard Harris) alongside some of his own troops. Tyreen and Dundee has a history together which creates friction along the mission. A mission that turns out to be very difficult with all sorts of casualties. "Major Dundee" suffered from all sorts of issues, such as studio interference in the final cut, Peckinpahs insufficiency to have a structured script and making up scenes along the way and as well his obnoxious way of treating his cast. This is kind of obvious when seeing the final result, "Major Dundee" is more a mess than a fine 60s western. There are moments for sure, and with two heavy weights such as Charlton Heston and Richard Harris in the leads plus James Coburn in a supporting role, there are fine acting in "Major Dundee". And in the smaller roles we see other well known faces, such as Slim Pickens and Warren Oates. Still, the acting is not the problem in this Peckinpah feature, its the messy and not that logic script and story that generates not much excitement or entertainment. It just does not thrill me the way I hoped it would. Disapointed is the correct word to use. Shame..

(fr) wrote: Demented, entertaining, interesting, sometimes hilarious, sometimes ridiculous and far-fetched. Worth watching - but yeah, demented - not that there's anything wrong with that. Great acting. 7.8 out of 10.
(it) wrote: bad acting, graphics, cinematography, and plot. Just about every line of dialog made me want to hurl. Every lick of science in this movie is complete nonsence. BUT the adverse effect is, it makes the movie funny. So, I watch the whole thing... and made a drinking game out of it, drink every time you see the black guy (and yes, there is only one).
(ca) wrote: The concept never delivers and a film that should've been American Pie meets The Walking Dead fails to deliver. The twist on the zombies didn't do much and the characters didn't live up to any expectations. The only funny moment was the trampoline scene which was exactly what this film should've aimed to create, just being another zombie film didn't work in the end. Good for junkies of the genre but far from genre breaking.
