Robert H (de) wrote: Doesn't have a lot of scenes from the future but does tend to explain the situation a little better than the first film. What are trancers anyways? And why do they just disappear when they die? This film has a nice tongue in cheek comedic understory involving Jack Deth and his two wifes. His wife in the past (Helen Hunt) and his wife from the future (Megan Ward). It makes for some fun moments as well as some dramatic ones. What is missing is the perfect opportunity to up the sex quotient as both Helen and Megan are beautiful women and though the film hints at it, there is never any sex to actually be had between any of these characters. The addition of Jeffrey Combs and Richard Lynch added a little something missing from the first one. Their looks and style make for the perfect evil dudes. This film keeps up a decently fast pace which helps keep you from tiring from the lackluster look of the film and focusing in on the cheesy script and acting but... the dialogue is also part of the film's charm.Trancers II isn't a standalone film but as part of the series it works quite well especially with all the returning cast.

Allan C (kr) wrote: Very entertaining and enjoyable Burt Kennedy directed western comedy about a small town being overrun by no-good cowboys, so they hire stranger James Garner clean up the town. With a jain with no bars, Garner takes on the town baddies, including Walter Brennan and Bruce Dern. By the late 60s, westerns were pretty played out and most of the memorable westerns of this time were either comedies like this or "Cat Ballou" or were grittier revisionist westerns like "The Wild Bunch" or "Lonely are the Brave". This film is probably my favorite western comedy of the time and is a must see for fans of the sub genre and/or Garner. Joan Hackett, Jack Elam, Harry Morgan and Henry Jones also appear in the film.

Irvin C (au) wrote: Between this and "Harakiri", Masaki Kobayashi must specialize in samurai movies that will make you cry. This one's about a samurai warrior whose lord asks that his mistress be married to his son. Reluctantly, they agree. But then his son and the mistress fall in love and just as they have their first child together, the mistress is ordered back to the castle. They refuse. Let's say shit hits the fan. The film takes a while to get to the samurai action but it's an emotional roller-coaster ride getting there and by the time the action hits, you'll be too busy crying to see the astounding sword play. It's masterfully directed and Toshiro Mifune has never been better! Kurosawa may get a lot of press but I think Kobayashi deserves some attention too.

Jose Miguel G (ru) wrote: Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones share a fantastic chemistry, and the overall environment and realistic writing of the film suggests for an easy digestive take on an over exhausting genre.

Diana B (mx) wrote: Just rewatched this - still as cute as ever.

Craig F (mx) wrote: I counted the laughs on one hand. The story is garbage, middle school views littered with cliches, the main characters are complete assholes yet the writers still expect us to root for them? Really? Disgusted that I can't get these 2 hours of my life back.
