He builds a weapon that separates things; and in Lego Land, such a weapon can be very destructive. He hires the Joker to help him out and bring down Gotham. Batman and Robin may need the help of the Justice League to stop Luthor."You got dressed fast.""I just started sleeping in costume now."Jon Burton, director of Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Harry Potter, delivers Lego Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite. The storyline for this picture is actually very well delivered and written. The script was on par with The Lego Movie. The animation was excellent as were the voices selected to play the heroes."We are not...going to call...Superman!"My daughter actually recently picked this out while we were shopping and we sat down and watched it together the next day. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was way better than the Justice League animation Lego film. Overall, this is very good and worth adding to your DVD collection."It's a boy!"Grade: A-

(br) wrote: A fast paced action/martial arts extravaganza, this features Jacky Wu (or Wu Jing if you prefer) at his best, the guy is just amazing to watch, lightning fast and evil as hell as the mercenary in charge of a gang of thieves.Well worth a look for action fans, and even though the film suffers from a little too much melodrama (there's some fat to be trimmed from this one for sure), the movie is well worth a rental.Check it out.

If you ever have the misfortune of seeing it, it's bound to be one of the worst you've seen as well. Laserblast is a movie that is poorly put-together with a plot travels absolutely nowhere by the time it's finished. The only way I could sit through this movie is through the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version. Laserblast begins when a half-human/half-monster (or something), with a strange alien contraption on his arm, is vaporized in the desert by the (poorly-executed stop-motion) aliens that created the aforementioned contraption. The aliens (which look like shell-less turtles) are scared off by a passerby, and forget to retrieve their contraption (which is, as you might have guessed, a laser gun). Soon afterwards, a whiny punk named Billy Duncan, who is bullied and picked on (and has a tendency of wearing unbuttoned shirts), finds the laser gun (as well as some weird necklace thing that makes the gun work). Soon afterward, the radiation (from the gun...or the necklace...or both) starts to mutate Billy's body and mind, and he soon not only starts looking like the frankenstein-esque guy from the beginning of the movie (which, by the way, is a poor makeup job) and begins blowing up everybody who has wronged him (though frankly, Billy never seemed like such a nice guy anyway). Later on, the aliens receive a message from their supreme commander (I guess) that they must retrieve the weapon from earth before it can cause more harm. He then shows them a video (of a previous scene in the movie) of Billy finding the laser gun. This raises a big question. If it's so important that they keep the weapon from humans, why did they leave it on earth (twice)? You would think if they were going to be spotted (by the previously mentioned passerby) they could have hid somewhere and retrieved the weapon once everything was clear. The aliens then head back to earth, and while they make the trip a plethora of seemingly unlinked scenes take place. We see Billy (unbuttoned shirts and all) going on sporadic rampages, a couple of goofy law enforcements (who seem like they're in a separate movie) goof around, and most bizarre of all is some guy in a suit (who I guess is some kind of government agent) who goes around "asking questions" about the strange recent happenings (but asking questions is literally all he does, by the end of the movie the character proves entirely superfluous as he effects absolutely no other character or plot element). Also "notable" is the four-minute presence of Roddy McDowall (of Planet of the Apes fame), who plays a doctor who removes a strange metal growth from Billy, a growth that (once removed) they say continues to grow. Not that that matters because it's instantaneously forgotten. Anyway, after so many scenes that a dull, poorly acted, and sloppily put together, the aliens eventually travel back to earth and vaporize Billy with zero effort. And the movie immediately ends. Laserblast might very well have the worst denouement of any movie I've ever seen. I will also point out that one scene has Billy blow up a sign reading "Star Wars." Not like a billboard or anything, just a sign reading Star Wars. Ifs this was the movie's way of laying down the gauntlet to George Lucas' sci-fi adventure...I don't think anything could have failed more. I repeat myself, Laserblast is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and it can only be watched via Mystery Science Theater 3000. It is a painful mess of bad acting, poor production, horrendous visual effects, non-sequitur plotting, staggeringly unlikable characters, I could go on and on. Laserblast is an absolute disaster of a movie. "Now get out there and sell, sell, sell!*
