Blind Mountain follows a young woman, Bai Xuemei, in the early 1990s who recently graduated from college and attempts to find work to help pay for her brother's education. In the process, she is drugged, kidnapped and sold as a bride to a villager in the Qinling Mountains of China's Shaanxi province. Trapped in the fiercely traditional town, the young woman finds that her avenues of escape are all blocked. As she searches for allies, including a young boy, a school teacher and a mailman, she suffers from being raped by her "husband" and continued beatings at the hands of the villagers, her husband, and her husbands' parents.

(br) wrote: Brilliant account of the rise to power of one of the all time great sporting teams. Great use of footage blended with interviews with Lloyd, Richards, Haynes, Greenidge, Roberts, Holding, Garner and Croft. Particularly interesting was the racism the side was confronted with in Australia and England, with the highlight being seeing Tony Greig living to regret a prediction made before a series that the Windies would be "made to grovel".

(jp) wrote: Artsy fartsy, Great premise & beautiful images are not enough to save this film from being vacuous, It lacks enough substance & depth, Not to mention that it follows the same old "men as assholes & women as sweet innocent human beings" cliche
(au) wrote: Mariel Hemingway kicks ass, but it's not enough to save this movie. This one needs alot more work on character and plot to turn it into something watchable.

(nl) wrote: Decent but forgettable film about cattle herding during war time. The plot itself is no great thing, but two greats like Holden and Widmark makes this film an entertaining yet simple flick.
(au) wrote: Cautionary tale about cheating on your spouse or scamming people out of their money. Loved it. Good revenge film with great actors.
(us) wrote: An intriguing and well paced legal thriller which hits the nail on the head. Acting is on point all round especially from George Clooney and Tulsa Swindon respectively. Michael Clayton is an attorney who is solving a case which involves his friend Arthur and along the way stumbles across several obstacles. For film fans, this is unmissable as audiences are treated to an exquisite screenplay by Tony Gilroy who also takes the directors seat. Overall, it's thought provoking and comes highly recommended!
