(fr) wrote: The Buddhist concept of reincarnation, while both mysterious and enchanting, is hard for most westerners to grasp. UNMISTAKEN CHILD follows the 4-year search for the reincarnation of Lama Konchog, a world-renowned Tibetan master who passed away in 2001 at age 84.I generally love documentaries, but I did have a hard time getting through this one. I couldn't help but wonder if Buddist hang on to the Idea that we never really leave this earth as a mechanism to cope and grieve.

(au) wrote: I wanted to rate this movie higher for the subject matter, but the style of the film didn't do it justice. It's based on a true story, but clearly has been appropriated by the melodrama typical of Bollywood. At times I found the dialogue and portrayal of the characters simplistic and implausible given the conditions they were living under. If you want to see a more accurate account of Afghan life, then watch "Osama" and "The Kite Runner".
(fr) wrote: Inventive, rarely conventional or stereotypical, realistic with style, hard, gripping but unfolds slowly, great characters, fantastic cinematography, can't find any negative words for this film.

(kr) wrote: bones has to be one of the most pointless films i have ever seen in my entire life. i give snoop dogg credit he can somewhat act, but nobody else in the film can. it was not scary, it was gory which was entertaining at times even though it was laughable. its definitely more funny rather than scary. its extremely slow as well, it takes about an hour into the film until something actually happens.

(au) wrote: A sequel to the goofy horror/comedy/fantasy film that's bloodier and funnier than the first. Warwick Davis reprised his role as Leprechaun and still as playfully harmful and dangerously charming as always. We also see more GORY deaths this time around, all which are still as wickedly creative as the first film. However, the tone of this film is quite different from the first as it added more romance dimension to the story as well as more silly humors, lowering its SCARE factor down. Overall with a twist change of tone, this is a funnier and even sillier sequel that still keeps its FUN and cheesy enjoyment well to live up to the first film standard [B]

(nl) wrote: Undeniably charming, although I'd argue Peck is miscast (he's just not scrappy enough for this role) but that hardly matters. That bittersweet ending is just wonderful.
