Blood Into Wine

Music fans know Maynard James Keenan as the frontman of such bands as Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, but in this documentary filmmakers Christopher Pomerenke and Ryan Page offer a closer look at one of the prolific rocker's more unexpected hobbies -- winemaking. Along with his business partner Eric Glomski, Keenan has managed to transform an arid stretch of Arizona desert into a lush vineyard that yields some particularly tasty grapes. Through unguarded conversations with Keenan and Glomski, Pomerenke and Page discover just what got the pair interested in winemaking, and why they chose such a hostile natural environment to serve as the site of their winery.

Ajinkya P (it) wrote: Loosely based on 'The Last Leaf', a story by O. Henry, Lootera is raw, understated tale of deceit, betrayal, honour and love which takes us on a deeply emotional journey. You can't really find such a minimalistic, poetic film in Bollywood which is full of masala fare, it looked kinda like a French film. Cinematography and Music is absolutely stunning. This is how a romantic movie should be made. Some movies have to be felt not just enjoy, this one is one of them. Probably the best film of the year!

chris a (ag) wrote: the plot is beyond stupid and though some of the stunts are amazing, its more fun to watch the credits where they show Jackie actually doing them, some unsucessfully.

Zoran S (nl) wrote: It doesn't improve much on repeat viewing. It is pretty uneven overall, no doubt due to it's troubled production and butchering by the studio. Even though it's rather conventional in its relationship to the genre codes of the Western, at least by Peckinpah's standards, there is some great stuff here that makes it worth seeing. The furious battle at the ending almost plays like a dry run for the slaughter in The Wild Bunch.
