(ca) wrote: I'm giving this a 2.5 out of 5. A half score. Cuz it was half a good movie. The story within the story (with Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor Johnson) was awesome. Should've been its own movie. Enthralling, intense, incredible well acted. The other portion with Amy Adams and Armie Hammer was art house rubbish. My recommendation: watch it once, fast forward to all the Michael Shannon stuff.

(mx) wrote: A very disturbing and emotional documentary on the lives of those North Korea destroyed. Yet, it strangely feels a little scarce with just 75 minutes of film time. No doubt what Kimjongilia executed was very well done, but you just can't help but feel that there's a little more to the story than "Kim Jong Il evil, North Korea evil". Essentially, if you are aware of the political prison death camps in North Korea, then this documentary serve only as a reminder on the horrors behind North Korea's closed doors. Which isn't a bad thing, but Kimjongilia serves nothing more than an introduction to the problems of North Korea. Those who are looking for a deeper look into the dysfunctional nation's problems are better off looking for a more insightful documentary and the history is skimmed over a little too quickly.

(jp) wrote: This is one of 2 movies advertised as a sequel to "Robot Jox," the other being "Robot Jox 2: Crash and Burn." Neither sequel has much or anything to do with Robot Jox and you do not need to watch them in order. The only thing similar between the three is that they all have giant robots in them.If this movie had been on MST3K it probably would have been up there with the best episodes. There is plenty to make fun of but it still has a comprehensible plot which is key for enjoying any B-movie. If you find humor in silly techno-babble and cheesy one-liners ("Remember the Alamo!") you will be in for a treat. The special effects are obviously not to the level of "Transformers" but they aren't as bad as "Godzilla!" either. There are no people in monster suits running around, just a lot of stop-motion models. The bottom line: Giant robots fighting, cheesy one-liners, silly technbabble, and hott chicks. What's not to love? It's definitely one of the better "So Bad It's Good" movies I've ever seen (and I've seen quite a few).

Released: 1968. -One of the best adult Westerns made to date and one of the more mature Westerns to come out of the 1960's,comes writer-director Tom Gries(who was most known for his television work for TV shows like The Rat Patrol)casts Charlton Heston(in one of the greatest roles in his career, and also he quoted as one of his favorite films)in the title role of a cowboy who patrols for trespassers and rustlers on a huge ranch, who protects two uninvited visitors,a mother and her son from vicious outlaws in 1880's Montana. Gries' son Jon Gries, aka Jon Francis plays the boy while actress Joan Hackett portrays his mother who protects her son from the vicious outlaws(Donald Pleasence, Bruce Dern and Lee Majors). The film was very good in bring a more darker side of ranch life in the Old West. Excellent character study in one of Charlton Heston's best roles.

(es) wrote: For creepy classic horror, this is one of the finest. "Curse" is the trimmed down American version of the film. It could have been even better had the producer Hal Chester not interfered with Jacques Tourneur's direction--keep the whole existence of the Stonehenge demon a mystery throughout--superstition or reality? He should've trusted the genius of Tourneur who is famous for several Val Lewton horror classics which are also favorites of mine. The lesson: be wary of runic gifts as well as executive producers!
