In this uncompromising vision of the gritty Korean underworld, a crystal meth dealer with a tragic past is forced to team up with a renegade cop to take down a powerful crime lord. Reminiscent of the Hong Kong action films of the 80’s but full of the dark and unpredictable machismo of Korean cinema today, Bloody Ties is a sinister and vicious film noir thriller.

Not a good movie mind you, but I enjoyed it. Average movie goers, avoid this movie. If you're someone who admittedly likes some dumb humour and wants to put a movie on...ah why not?

(jp) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: The first Harry Potter film was a success because, like most good franchise starters, it set up a world and a group of characters extremely well. This is not only thanks to the source material, but also the film's faithfulness to it, and the cast that backs it all up. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Also like most franchise starters, it fails rather dramatically in some story departments. Instead of a compelling sequence of events, we're left with a group of magical obstacle courses where the stakes seem somewhat forced and the reasoning is weak - even for my small brain. VERDICT: It was a good start, but the franchise hadn't really got going yet at this point.
