Blue Note - A Story of Modern Jazz
"It must schwing!" was the motto of Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, two German Jewish immigrants who in 1939 set up Blue Note Records, the jazz label that was home to such greats as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. Blue Note, the most successful movie ever made about jazz, is a testimony to the passion and vision of these two men and certainly swings like the propulsive sounds that made their label so famous.

(jp) wrote: Why Did I Get Married Too. THe second installment of the married couple retreat where they go off to the tropical islands this time and talk about their love lives. To be honest I wanted to see this movie cause it was very recent after Janet Jackson lost her brother Michael and there is a scene with he going all wacky with a golf club.Throughout the movie I watched how Janet poured her heart and soul into the role and you can feel in parts that the emotion was raw and not a act but truth behind the performance. The scene with the golf club i remember Janet being on the Oprah show with Tyler Perry discussing the scene and one of the first takes Janet takes the club tries to break the table and instead the club breaks and hits Janet back. The take in the movie Janet takes the Driver club and goes crazy at any glass in the house and although I felt the pain that she would be feeling I could tell that it can be therapeutic to just get the anger, sadness and all other raw emotion Janet was feeling.Janet's performance was soo good that it reminded me of her first movie role Poetic Justice this movie was fantastic and Janet should of won a award of some sort because at such a young age the performance was outstanding. Both Why Did I Get Married movies should be watched. Ohh and there is a special guest role at the end of the movie. Give it a look just because of the very end.By the way life is precious. Kids should watch this with parental guidance.

(mx) wrote: A better croc movie than either of the new lake placid movies. Used footage of real croc(s) and added cgi. Better than most.
(nl) wrote: The plot is so flat! Glad the two main actresses are really attractive that kept me awake while watching it.
(ca) wrote: set in argentina, man's life changes when he is in a horrific car accident with his wife and kids. the guy ends up in patagonia a mess, but I found the way the movie ended a bit bizzare because it really makes the main character out to be a fool. Kind of nostalgic self grief.
(nl) wrote: wow that was bad. You know your sick when you sit through a movie like that
(kr) wrote: Jenni made me watch this movie about one her favorite all time athletes "Pre". I really enjoyed it and later found out that Tom Cruise bought the rights to the script and his production company did a great job producing this film. Billy Crudup did a good job playing Steve Prefontaine. I recommend this movie to everyone - Especially people who loves sports and root for the under-dog.
(ca) wrote: This movie is really cute and brings about a wonderful screen display.I find very sweet the whole idea of going to the end of the world to make someone realize you're the one meant for him/her.
(br) wrote: If you are in the mood for some erotica, this film is it! It is one of my favorites!!!
(es) wrote: Quirky and interesting but not something i could rewatch time and again.
(de) wrote: A slow, unusual western with some interesting background detail. Watching the likes of Gene Hackman, James Coburn and Ben Johnson could never exactly be called a chore, but listening to the film's relentless moralising speeches did try my patience at times. I saw this on TV and it felt very choppy, almost certainly having had some horse-falls cut out of it; ironic for a film which preaches kindness to and respect for animals, amongst other things.
(br) wrote: Terrific, romantic film. Very funny stuff, at times. I love Maurice Chevalier's character here and, of course, Audrey Hepburn is amazing, too.
(gb) wrote: Casually misogynistic and not funny. A waste of a great cast.
(mx) wrote: A really good movie about retribution but in a old testament sorta way. everyone gets what they deserve. The movie gives you a sense of the antagonist of the film to be the hero and the protagonist or police are actually the villains. very cool movie reminds me of The Crow but way more fucked up and less 90s.
