Jason C (gb) wrote: Perhaps it's my nostalgia for Space: 1999 but I loved the concept and appreciated the execution of this darkly comic pastiche of 70s space opera. Unlike many pastiches however, there is some depth behind the wide collars and acrylic uniforms.

Steven M (ca) wrote: Man, I really expected to like this one. Four or five stars for sure. But except for the obvious and thereby unexpected ending, it's just sentimental and tedious.

Jamin M (it) wrote: I absolutely adore this film. I fell head over heels for it. I love the characters. I love the animation. I love the comedy, the drama, the musical score, everything. The emotions are very genuine and the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless is very poignant and very touching. Yes, the story is predictable with many been-done elements, but the way the story is executed and how well-paced it is makes those elements work very well. One thing Dreamworks is good at doing is casting and it clearly shows here. I loved every performance. The way the dragons work is kind of confusing, but how cool the dragons are more than make up for it. The film is, in my opinion, practically perfect. It's my most favorite Dreamworks film next to it's sequel. It's an absolutely stunning, funny, heartwarming, surprisingly intense, action-packed adventure that both kids and adults can enjoy. It's straight up wonderful

Raffy John M (br) wrote: Good! An average fighting scenes since I didn't expect that the last fight would end very soon as if there was no chronic bruise Omar Epps had received for the 1st 2 rounds., Although it would teach us a lesson that somewhere in the middle of our career, the track would change due to temptation presents to us by greediness., as we would realize afterwards that we didn't gain anything, rather, we lost everything that was important to us., that without them, we would not be complete., After thourough pondering what had happened, we would know that we have live the life we've been dreaming, only too dumbful to notice it.,

Matt M (nl) wrote: Certainly one of the most brutally honest and even painful making of documentaries, this one is about the disastrous production of Gilliam's Don Quixotte where everything goes wrong. An intimate look into the filmmaking process in general, a too ambitious filmmaker and the unhappiness that can grow within the group, which affects the project and can lead to a work's tragic demise. The worst thing about the experience is that from the few scenes Gilliam shot, we know it could have been quite a spectacular movie.

Rodney E (es) wrote: A favorite from when I was under 10 years old. While it isn't as awesome as it was in those days it is still a good comedy and some strong two Coreys.

Walter M (mx) wrote: Have you ever noticed that there is always one guy who ruins the topless photo shoot for everyone else? In this case, it is Keefe(Brad Rijn) who tries dragging his wife Andrea(Zoe Tamerlis) back home to Oklahoma from New York. She will have none of it, escaping out the bathroom window before seeking out disgraced film director Chris Neville(Eric Bogosian). However, she realizes too late what he intends his next project to be...Wearing its low budget proudly on its sleeve(so much so, that some of the dialogue seemed to be fading out at times), "Special Effects" is a movie that wants to have its exploitation and complain about it, too. That it works as well as it does is down to Eric Bogosian's natural intensity. In this case, he puts it to good use playing a director who cannot tell reality from make-believe anymore. With a backdrop of a gloriously sleazy and tawdry 1980's New York City and a loft that is alternately tacky and awesome, this movie could also be seen as a warning against the glamour of filmmaking.

Matt B (nl) wrote: The WORST Nicholas Sparks adaptation so far. Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel have zero chemistry, nor do they look like they're having much fun here. The "twist" at the end is the most unintentionally hilarious twist I've ever seen in a movie.

Luke R (ag) wrote: Colin Firth is mainly known for cheesy rom-coms but he sets himself apart in this film. The film is easily one of the best biopics of the last decade.
