(nl) wrote: very surprised by this film. it was suspenseful witch action and some parts that made you laugh but there is also a message I'm this film which alot of movies don't have anymore acting was decent. which is the one of the only flaws I had 3 out of 5 for harsh times
(ag) wrote: Masterfully crafted morally complex characters and situations. Not quite as tight and definite as some of the Dardenne's later work, but very well done nevertheless.
(fr) wrote: A wonderful lighthearted film with a weak script but a fierce and bold cast strong enough to pull it off!
(mx) wrote: One of the Post World War II "Big Creature" films that expressed concerns about the potential for Atomic Energy to mutate creatures. The budget was low, the suites rubber, and the showing of nice legs gratuitous... all part of the fun of this film. The acting may not have been the best, but the attack scenes were suitably messy for the time period.
(br) wrote: the funny thing with western is that I don't really like the genre (or at least I think so) and thus don't really see many westerns, but all those I know (which is about... let's say, 5) I think are great and "the man of the west" is no exception. good story neatly crafted with lots of different levels on which this film can be read.
(gb) wrote: In the world of thrillers, "Union Station" is just about as routine as it gets. Its plot contains a handful of predictable scenes that lead to an expected conclusion and its characters exist for the sole purpose of moving the story from beginning to end. But as textbook as it is, "Union Station" is forgettable and unambitious in an enjoyable way. It's a good hour and twenty-something minutes of mindless escapism that never feels like a waste of time. It's well-paced and remarkably shot, and William Holden makes a formidable hero. "Union Station" doesn't have classic status, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth your time.
(us) wrote: Great little "B" film from the 1940's, good cast, a nice balance of crime drama, comedy and mystery. Very typical of the period, that is part of what makes it enjoyable. Leo Gorcey makes a rare appearance outside of the Bowery Boys.
