Raul V (es) wrote: Captivating, though-provoking, & ultimately infuriating! Solidly crafted documentary film that explores the "much talked about" yet "virtually unknown" story of Pat Tillman. Although it's a very inspirational story at times, it's not necessarily the most up-lifting. From accounts of those closest to Pat, the "myth" of Pat Tillman that was created and spread around this country holds very little weight compared to the "man" he actually was. Upon his death attributed to "friendly fire", the U.S. military, U.S. politicians, along with "news media" formulated a palpable yet inaccurate depiction of a slain hero. His "story" had been propagandized to the fullest extent in order to keep up support for the wars...and perhaps as a possible recruiting tool...during a fuckin' election year of course. An important film that will be very hard to watch for many...but I implore you to do so. It never made it to theaters in these parts...SHOCKER! Rent it, Red Box it, You Tube it, download it...just please fuckin' watch this movie.

Alex D (nl) wrote: It cannot be sad that Andrew Bujalski is untalented. Anyone can make a bad movie, Bujalski??s Beeswax is so bad one needs a grand theory of badness to describe it. It is true talent to make a film that fails on every conceivable level. The film is such a perfect example of the badness that the theory needed can only be describe as the ??beeswax effect,?? which can be defined as inanity and in inconsequentialness that perceive those qualities as virtues. The short version of this review is: everything that happens in the film is 100 percent like real life, nothing in the film is remotely interesting. Movies really are only worth seeing for either interesting story or interesting characters or a combination of the two. Beeswax has none of this. There is really no story to beeswax. The film is full of ??in between moments?? of real life that suggest possibly interesting things that never happen or come to fruition. The details of any conflict and indeed the conflict itself are left completely off screen. Both in the legal, romantic and family aspects. A typical example is that the mother of the two sisters needs help moving an office but the sister cannot because she has jury duty on Monday. The ??problem?? itself (moving office furniture) is a profoundly mundane and uninteresting one. The reason the sister cannot help is purely legitimate, a prior obligation. If you want to know what happens, the answer is nothing. We can assume the sister went to jury duty and the office furniture was moved somehow. There is no tension or drama here, merely a mother and daughter that seem to like each other and want to help each other out when they can. It is certainly a good thing the mother and daughter get along, but there is no reason anyone should be interested in such a situation. Every obstacle that the characters face is simply an uninteresting problem with easy and readily available solutions. So much so it cuts out and drama or engagement that audience might have with the situations. The result is that the situations simply become banal. However, since nothing happens there is no story, all we are left with are the characters and this is where the film completely falls apart. These characters are incredibly superficial surface level thinkers with no deep thoughts or emotions and no ability whatsoever to express themselves. These would be people instantly forgettable if you met them in real life (and in some cases irritating), let alone having to spend 100 minutes with them in a film. None of the characters is likable however, none is worthy of hatred nor any emotion in between. There is so little characterization either through story or dialogue it is impossible not to be completely apathetic about the characters. Bujalski does not realize that being inconsequential and muted are not virtues in and of themselves. If one thing can be taken away from the film is that ANYTHING is worth of inclusion in a film. Think about what happened to you in the last two weeks and any particular day is without a doubt far more interesting and cinematic than anything in Beeswax. Quite simply, the film and the filmmaker have nothing to say. The filmmaker seems to have said nothing on purpose, under the belief that in saying nothing, he has said something profound. He is wrong.

I Am The Vast UNIVERSE I (ru) wrote: Godsend's premise is somewhat interesting but its execution is far to predictable and mundane ultimately its your standard piece of escapism and not much more then that. The only real noteworthy scene in the film is when Robert De Niro goes crazy in the church at the end of the film granted its not terrible but its not good either I would say its a tolerable film but its not really worth investing time into it.
