Kathy W (nl) wrote: Beautifully done intense film about the generation gap between father & his divorced Chinese daughter who lives in the US. Sometimes silence is so powerfully intense showing the difficulty of communication between father & daugther, yet the father is able to communicate perfectly fine w/ strangers who speak a foreign language
Tiberio S (gb) wrote: Let's be honest, this is one of only very few movies we absolutely have to keep on when flipping through the channels, no matter what point in the film it's at.
Lynn M (mx) wrote: I don't understand why this has a low rating. I haven't seen it for years, but both of my children LOOOOVED this movie and it's a family favorite. I'm not a huge Robin Williams fan, but I thought the whole thing was just fun, poignant, and special.
Red L (fr) wrote: I normally like such movies where families grow or come to understand their issues. That part of this film was fine, but I found the resolution of the movie all a bit too neat. Most of the time, when you throw in a suicide attempt, a coming out, realization you are an alcoholic into a weekend, it doesn't come out tied in a nice bow.

These renditions far surpass the oafish fool that Ustinov plays Poirot to be. He recklessly throws accusations at suspects and is always conveniently around to spot clues. The ending is almost identical to Death on the Nile. If you're a Poirot fan, or a murder mystery fan, I would avoid this. The only saving grace is the adorable Roddy McDowall.
Mike M (jp) wrote: A film where the underlying morality is as wholesome and edifying as the images are expensive and lush; think "Devdas" meets "Dr. Mabuse".
Bailey A (mx) wrote: The film isn't a surprise disappointment based on the standard of the previous sequels. Depp's performance was once mesmerising but now seems a tad annoying. Ian McShane does his best but the story and script fail to allow him to deliver Blackbeard as a terrifying character.
