devastator9 (br) wrote: I'm a sucker for satire, and was glad to see this idea presented in such a way. The concept is showing a "reality television show" in which the contestants, all randomly chosen, must kill each other off to be the last one standing. If this sounds kind of like Battle Royale, it really isn't beyond the basic description. This movie was directed by the producer of tabloid television programs, and plays out as such, with sensationalism, cut aways during 'intense' parts, and annoying dramaticized commentary from the narrator throughout. Definitely gotta disagree with the movie's common description of "incredbly violent" though, which is fine because it really doesn't need excessive violence to be disturbing and make its points about American culture and media. Still silly and somewhat funny throughout as well.

Bill B (mx) wrote: Something I'd failed to see in theaters but discovered and loved on video, this film is one of Carpenter's better films for me simply because it creates its won rules and limitations for a battle between good and evil in a more (for the time anyway) tech-savvy world. It also features some truly creepy visuals and sports one of the creepiest roles ever for one Alice Cooper.Recommended.

Jackson S (us) wrote: The Cartoon segments are charming, and it is impossible to hate James Baskett's performance. This movie is banned from the US, and by looking at the main story, it's apparently gives off the stereotype that Black People are boring. XD But seriously kidding aside the live action segments are as exciting as Tar.

Sarfara A (kr) wrote: High Spirits fantasy comedy film directed by Neil Jordan. Starring Daryl Hannah, Liam Neeson and Peter O'Toole. Only watched it because of Liam Neeson (one of my top-favorite actors) but what a failure. Liam seemed convincing to prove comedic abilities of his, in this comedy-fantasy-horror film. Nothing special about it, just a movie with few gags.

Carol H (mx) wrote: This is a very weird movie. Not only are the special effects dated, but the story is impossible to follow.

Ashley H (jp) wrote: Innerspace is a decent film. It is about a hapless store clerk who must foil criminals to save the life of the man who, miniaturized in a secret experiment, was accidentally injected into him. Dennis Quaid, Martin Short, and Meg Ryan give good performances. The screenplay is enjoyable but a little slow in place. Joe Dante did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor.
