Loved that it's very political without being biased or preachy, nice to see what is happening on both sides of the apartheid wall in Palestine, as well as learning about what's going on in places there are not really in the news such as Denmark, Australia, HK and Singapore. Really enjoyed the way the issues are discussed more through the art itself, rather than by what the artists themselves say about it. Highly visual and dynamic, i hope to watch it on a big cinema screen sometime.
Malachi M (ru) wrote: This straight-to-video release could've easily had been yet another 3rd rate horror, but strong performances by some talented actors and a simple premise just a tad bit above the "campy" line, came together to make this a surprisingly enjoyable film
Jeff B (gb) wrote: Eh, the acting is okay, but--past the first couple of scenes--there's very little to see in this movie. It's like a more boring version of another movie I watched recently, "Salvador."

Dave R (es) wrote: Attention all of those Marylanders who have spent any summer time down in Ocean City...this movie is a time warp for you! My sister told me about this flick Ping Pong Summer, and while it's not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, I had a blast watching it. Maybe because I've spent time in Ocean City, Md every summer of my life, and just loved seeing the images of the old inlet. Ironically in 1985 (the year this movie is set), I was just two years older then the main character is in the movie. Walking the boards, hitting the arcade, the awkwardness towards girls, having to go to dinner with my parents, meeting up with aunts and uncles just all resonates with me a ton. The director nails spot on the sights and sounds of what kind of went on in my own life. Now the acting by the kids in this flick is pretty terrible, and the stereotypes are way over done. However, if you graduated high school in the 80's and spent any time on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This flick will be a delight.
