Boudu Saved from Drowning

Bourgeois Parisian bookseller Edouard Lestingois (Charles Granval) rescues a tramp, Boudu, from a suicidal plunge into the river Seine. Boudu is brought into Lestingois' household and invokes the age-old principle that the book-seller is now responsible for his life. The family adopts the bum and dedicates itself to reforming him into a proper middle class person. Boudu (Michel Simon) shows his gratitude by shaking the household to its foundations, challenging the hidebound principles of his hosts and seducing them with his anarchic charm.

Boudu, a tramp, jumps into the Seine. He is rescued by Mr Lestingois, a gentle and good bookseller, who gives shelter to him. Mrs Lestingois and the maid Anne-Marie (Mr Lestingois' mistress... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Jerry A (gb) wrote: I was actually wanting to see this movie but it was no where near what I was expecting. Along with it being boring as all get out, the whole movie was from a cameras perspective. I can't stand those type of movies and can't believe the people who comes up with that type of movie thinks it's actually a good idea and something interesting to watch. Not worth the hour and a half to watch.

Tiffany W (nl) wrote: In my opinion animat said it best"it's unholy"it had animation so bad that I rather watch food fight on a loop scary character that will make you afraid of dogs after you watch this a story that I feel like the movie didn't even had and the fact that the creator of this said he was on drugs while making this is just facepalmingly bad and another thing that the creator said he wanted this to be a comedy......just let that sink in for a second

Sarah H (fr) wrote: It's one of those movies where you have to pick the person you watch it with very carefully. It is very easy for this one to piss people off. The only real thing I have against it is the fact that I don't think the movie actually knows where it stands on religion. It takes the extreames and shows all of their points of view. The hypocrat is very much alive in this movie. I think it should have possibly picked a side, and stuck with it. It's like they wanted to be so down the middle in the end the kind of missed the point. They should have instead just made people think. The acting is about as good as you would expect from the cheesy premis, but if you can look past that you actually have a pretty decent movie. It's more about how outragous people are with religion that they can't even think for themselves.

It started out decent enough, then completely veered off into WTF land. Some of the things that go on make absolutely no sense. The last half hour especially lost me.Kate herself is great, and looks ridiculously delicious. Harvey Keitel is Harvey Keitel, but he gets to do naughty things to Kate, so I suppose I envy him for that.Overall, this is pretty much a bad movie, and not worth anyone's time.

Adrian B (ru) wrote: A man drives around and around. He is looking for someone to pay all his money to for an interesting job. The viewer eventually finds out after 30 minutes what his job offering is when he picks up a young soldier. He wants to give the boy all his money after he kills himself with an overdose of sleeping pills, with his helper burying him after he goes into his pit. Pretty odd, but original film, that shows a strange side of life, with a man's willpower to kill him and find someone, because he obviously has no heirs, to give all his wealth to. Pretty depressing, but also absorbing to an extent. Some may find this film very boring, but I thought it was engaging.

Jamin M (br) wrote: Not only do I love this film, but this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love the characters, the story, and especially the music. The acting is pretty good as well. This film has a big cast, and all of the actors do great. I really like Tracy and how determined she is. I really like Penny, Link, Seaweed, and Motormouth Maybelle, and Corny. I love that the story touches upon racism as well. The best aspect of this film is of course the music. I can't help but listen to these songs over and over again. They're just so catchy and fun. I don't even know what else to say. I think Hairspray is a fun, energized treat with enjoyable characters, a good story, and awesome songs. It's one of my all time favorite movies. I loved it as a kid and I'll love it from years to come.
