Joey F (gb) wrote: So much potential in this concept. Unfortunately, it's largely one big anime cliche. It's passable, but a letdown.

Grant H (ag) wrote: Pretty bad movie. The film's major problem is not that it's incredibly clich (C)d (which it is), or that the tone is too jumbled (also true), it's that it's not very entertaining for the first hour of the movie (which is 2/3 of the movie). The laughs during that time are few and far between, the dramatic scenes are not that great, and the performances are even worse, Streisand being unbearably annoying, even if that was supposed to be her character, it was still too much, and Rogen not really showing any real acting, just bland formulaic stuff. The last half hour is where the movie slightly picked up, which is not good that they waited that long. It has funnier moments and more touching dramatic parts, as well as improved performances from the cast, but still isn't great. Overall, the movie was pretty boring, sets up potential for good gags and wastes them, and doesn't give the leads anything good to work with.

This is more of a Behind the Music kind of documentary and although the members of the band seem interesting I remain unimpressed with their music. If you're a fan this is probably right up your alley but it was not that fascinating to me.

Ray T (ca) wrote: A watchable Czech Republic movie of a married couple in Nazi occupied Prague where the wife is Jewish and her radio personality husband is not. He uses his media connections to try to protect her as he collaborates with the Nazi propagandists. It's a schizophrenic story line as some parts play like an absurdist black comedy and other parts play like a straight drama,

Tyson P (ca) wrote: this is a very cliche horror least i think its a parody it seems to just make fun of horror movies while surving up some nasty murders and funny one liners. the clown looks pretty bad ass too, it wasnt a terrible movie i didnt mind watching it.

Eric P (gb) wrote: Not really funny, to be honest.

Jeff B (nl) wrote: Good film directed by Luis Bunuel about a woman from Paris who comes to be the new maid of a rich French family. Good set up with memorable characters, I especially like the neighbors who keep throwing the trash at the family. But I don't know, I guess I wasn't as involved compared to the other Bunuel films I've seen. It's a good film, but I think it could have been better. Though after reading the trivia about what the chant at the end meant, that was a nice little joke by Bunuel.

Logan M (br) wrote: What the film says is sentimental and moving, but if the Academy wanted to award Best Picture to a movie that touches on race, then they should have chosen Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing."
