The film contains some exciting scenes and makes some interesting statements about life during the Depression as viewed from forty years later. Eventually Big Bill dies with some heavy-handed savior symbolism. And two Pinkerton-like Federal agents hound the gang for years. David's father John Carradine plays the anti-union railroad baron. Together Bertha, Bill, Rake, and Von make up the gang of misfits. And her path crosses again with Von Morton (Casey), who used to be her father's chauffeur/servant. Earlier, Bertha had befriended Rake Brown (Primus), a Jewish grifter/gambler. The authorities were out to suppress all union activity, so Big Bill Shelly soon breaks out of jail and is forced to turn to robbery to live. David Carradine, around the time he was preparing for the series, Kung Fu, and about four years before he would appear as Woody Guthrie in Bound for Glory, played a union organizer. This, with a couple sex scenes, and plenty of gunfights give the film its exploitative nature. Barbara Hershey, as the sweet and mischievous Bertha, runs around in thin dresses that barely cover her. The book on which the screenplay was based was touted as an autobiography, but is really more fiction and amalgamation. Carradine) are Bonnie and Clyde like Depression era criminals, but they rob trains. Bertha (Hershey) and Bill (D. This was Scorsese's second feature length fictional film. Roger Corman produced this low budget exploitation picture

MUCH better alone. If you ask me, the song's better alone. Kind of a weird short film

"Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" is one of the worst "movies" I've ever seen, I quote the word movies because this is most definitely not a movie, it's an incoherent, visually revolting, overbearing exercise in stupidity, it's tons of shit being thrown at a wall to see what sticks, and what doesn't sticks remains, it's an endless showcase of law defying physics, over-the-top wardrobe, and our stars' undeniable sex appeal, it's an utter and complete waste of time and resources

Intrigued by the ideas, but like others have said, there wasn't enough character development

It has its cheese, but The Rescue is still a fun action/war film for tweens

. . Saw this movie in Japan in the early 80's with an Aussie colleague who needed a translator for the Scouse!! Loved the sharp wit of the women and the reality it represented and the mention of Southport of course Ha! Loved the dream it had to offer

Every actor involved treats the story with the required respect, and it's a cracker as a result. It's kind of a bizarre plot but if you can't do whimsical fancy in cinema then where can you. obviously I love this film. . . My big fave Costner and a heartwarming tale around a Father-Son story
