I could see if you did not have the mental capacity to understand the deep undertones and pure poetry that made this movie great, but to hate on it so much is just silly. this movie does not deserve such a low rating when we have real tragedies like Pacific Rim or another step up movie. I mean seriously it wasn't another sequel or remake so ease up.
Wesley R (jp) wrote: This movie, which Helen Hunt directed and help write, was surprisingly good. It took awhile, but by the time it was over I was touched by the characters, particularly Hunt's. Everyone in it was good, especially Colin Firth as Hunt's new love interest.Watched it again, for the second time apparently! I have no recollection of having seen it previously. I was impressed with the writing (Helen Hunt is listed as one of the writers, as well as director). Bette Midler was especially good as Hunt's alleged natural mother.

Michael R (ca) wrote: The best film of 1994. A wonderful adaptation of the Checkov play by David Mamet. A true triumph of cinematic minimalism. Beautifully filmed and directed with some fantastic performances.
Doug C (es) wrote: A fair B-noir starring Ava Gardner returning to her whistle stop hometown to play old boyfriends George Raft and Tom Conway against each other until they plot to kill each other. There is little chemistry between either pair, however, and Ava Gardner's character seems to be more obnoxious than the producers realized. Victor McLaglen delivers a great performance as Raft's friend and co-conspirator, but unfortunately he's the only one.
chris w (ru) wrote: horrible movie. Kristen Stewart has to be one of the most painful actresses to watch. Every moment she is kn screen, made me get that much closer to turning it off, which I did.
