Brian H (ru) wrote: Interesting and original stuff for one who likes political movies. Excellent writing and cinematography. However, the acting is flimsy and distracting on the part of Michael Sheen as Tony Blair and Dennis Quaid as Bill Clinton. Hope Davis does a better job as Hillary Clinton. I've seen political docu-dramas where top-notch acting and sensitive writing really nailed the characters, regardless of look-alike similarity. This is not one of those films, but to me it's still engaging and well worth it for its treatment of recent British-American relations and its comparison of chief executive politics.

Andreas O (it) wrote: Ok, it'll get a point for the setting, but that's really as nice as I can be. This movie failed with nearly everything it tried to do. The plot was ridiculous, the effects were laughable, the acting was really uninspired. And the ending... wow. Bad movie.

Samantha S (au) wrote: I LOVE this movie. The cast is beyond compare. It's the sad tale of a woman whose great talent was sunk by her love of beautiful young men who disappeared with little regard and her own increasing alcoholism. She was a brilliant, clever woman. The true love of her life, Robert Benchly (who was married with a slew of kids and was reputed to be quite a swordsman with the ladies), died of reasons associating with alcoholism as well. While they were emotionally close, they were never physically intimate. She never did find the love she always sought, though she was successful for most of her career (though not well-paid).

christine m (jp) wrote: Set in lushly Gothic Edwardian London of Hammer Universe, this story of Jack the Rippers murderous daughter features Angharad Rees as Anna, marvelously psychotic package of angelic purity and lethal dangerousness. She is adopted by grumpily kind psychiatrist (Eric Porter), but he cant prevent the killing spree...
Stephen E (ca) wrote: "The Onion Field" features a complex narrative and well-developed characters, but ultimately, it never goes anywhere. The scenes that are meant to provoke emotion fall flat, the final twenty minutes or so are unnecessary, and the pacing is slow and unbalanced. James Woods delivers a strong performance, but that's about it. There's nothing noteworthy about this film other than that.
