That was the case with my first Iwai movie "All About Lily Chou Chou" and may be a thing with his movies. There's always something more to catch when watching them. This movie was a little cutesy at first, but the story line with Alice was great, especially the scenes with her dad. I enjoyed Hana's story as well, but I think there could have been more to it. Learning a little more about her would have rounded out the character. The amnesia story was a little goofy and I think the love triangle could've been developed just as well without it. Overall a very enjoyable movie.

The story of man taking on a cruel and corrupt system, without any wavering compromise.Robert Redford is as good as ever, with a fine performance. The cast is also stellar, mostly unknowns that don't take away from Redford. Keep an eye out for a small role by Morgan Freeman. The plot is very good too, and the director of Cool Hand Luke delivers another gritty prison movie with a great story and well rounded characters. Definitely an underrated drama with a some mesmerizing final scenes.
