Potential is not entirely wasted though seeing as the performances from both Wahlberg and Crowe are the best with what they are given and it turns out to be very entertaining with a few nice twists thrown in. "Broken City" still seems to hold itself together to entertain us. B

Over the years her choice in roles became more sparce. However she's raised her inner desire for more sophisticated and jaw dropping roles. 'Where the Truth Lies' is no excpetion, it's a perfect example of how far an actor will go inorder to get the 'wow' factor.

(br) wrote: The content might be a tad too highbrow for little kids to fully enjoy but this will always be one of my favourite animated adventure films. One of the few movies out there to mix traditional hard-drawn 2D imagery with CGI animation - and actually pull it off. Can't help but feel for a film voiced by such huge A-list celebs, it went under most peoples radar.

You eat like a pig and chew like a cow! Although not as famous as some of Spike Lees other films like Malcolm X or Do The Right Thing, it still has his signature all over it. Nobody makes an urban movie like Spike Lee. In Crooklyn he gives us a great mix of comedy and family drama, although more drama then comedy. Alfre Woodard and Delroy Lindo give great performances as the parents of 4 sons and a daughter. Based somewhat on Spike Lee's own life; it is a fantastic look at a tough but struggling family.
(jp) wrote: It is safe to say this movie is not for everyone. The issues and acquisitions Bob Roberts touches on are sure to rub some the wrong way. If you are gullible enough to believe that politicians are there for our best interest than this movie is definitely not for you. But if you realize that 99.9% of politicians are corrupt then you might enjoy this satirical look at an establishment that has lost its views and purpose and has become more about "by the politicians....for the politicians."

(ag) wrote: Plot Synopsis: Sully and Mike partner up with 4 not-so-scary monsters to participate in the single-elimination tournament Scarer Games, because at Monsters University you're given a free bailout from failing exams as long as you win games. Maybe they should have called this Monster Olympics instead of Monster University. Monsters University doesn't have that fresh, revolutionary CGI look or the same catchy OST music as did Monsters Inc., and it's not as emotional or dramatic as the original movie, but it's still in my opinion another good film, though not excellent, from Pixar especially regarding the climax where Sulley scares off the human adults and also the crap out of the heartless devil Dean Hardscrabble. So overall, I enjoyed this movie thoroughly, but not as much as Monsters Inc from 2001, it's not an excellent prequel but it's still an acceptable one.
