I thought it was a regular film so I tilted when I realized that this is a straight-up Jesus movie and they hope that you convert. Suing the Devil is only for Christian fanatics so don't watch it unless you're one of them. Also, being $12,000 in credit card debt is not a sin (see trailer). It's just irresponsible and stupid...like these film makers.

(br) wrote: This is the favorite Christopher Guest film of many fans and I can see why. Everyone in the troupe is in tip-top form, although none of that matters a whole lot because Fred Willard takes this movie over in a manner I don't think I've ever seen in a comedy. I was lukewarm on the film until this happened; by the end I loved it. There should be a large exhibit in a museum of comedy dedicated to what Fred Willard (aided excellently by Jim Piddock's long-suffering cohost) has managed to do here. Willard has embodied the relentlessly asinine in a way which becomes some sort of historic human accomplishment, like the Mona Lisa or Michelangelo's David of stupidity. I doubt there has ever been anything like it in movie history, and if there ever is again, it will be done by Fred Willard.

(es) wrote: Enjoyed this classic Yul Brynner adventure even more than I originally thought ... great dramatic scenes throughout ... loved the jumping over the earth crack on horseback scenes with Tony Curtis ... was not expecting the ending between father and son ... worth a viewing!
(kr) wrote: While rough in parts, as a whole, the film is quite funny and charming. I love how Hepburn's character puts Cooper's through the ringer in terms of fibbing about her romantic past...falling in love with him whilst he becomes intrigued by her...it all comes together in the end. While Hepburn gave a lovely performance, as always, and it was interesting to see her play a musician, I must say I really wasn't a fan of her hairstyling in this film.
