Mercer M (fr) wrote: Another VK flick I could hardly sit through. Cuba does try to carry the film but overall it's just a mess.

Ian E (ru) wrote: The movie adaptation of Nancy Drew is a deceitful premise that squanders the lovable character on a slow, safe, and predictable framework.

Alexandra G (de) wrote: French-Japanese production with nice camera work and plot and a cool soundtrack. The final scene is memorable. Kitanos appearance is very short and I am not sure whether his character really was significant for the movie after all. I can understand why people argue about whether the performances of the actors were good or not: I decided to like them. K's movements gave the film a unique vibe and Hinanos childish behavior and voice were in my opinion genuinely(!) adorable (- which is very hard to achieve with the stereotypical role of the Japanese high-school girl).

Grant S (br) wrote: A plane carrying schoolboys from a military school crashes into the ocean. A group of them make it to an island. After taking stock of their surroundings they settle into a regimen and order, with Ralph as their leader. However, after a while a splinter group emerges, lead by Jack. Jack is hardly a benevolent leader and fascism and barbarism follow... A reasonably interesting adaptation of William Golding's classic novel. I haven't read the book or seen any other adaptations of the novel, though am familiar with the basic plot. So the story is quite original and thought-provoking to me. I did think it would be a more powerful metaphor for society though, so, even without having that background knowledge I sense that this is not a great adaptation of the book. This said, it is quite entertaining and you can see how it mirrors human behaviour.

Alan N (nl) wrote: nothing gross about it, great movie.

Jason J (us) wrote: The movie starts out just like a standard low budget WW2 movie setup: ragtag group of GIs is caught behind German lines and have to fight their way out. Luckily, this is in Italy so the Germans are a little way out on the end of their supply lines as well. We get all the standard war movie clichs: the gruff Sarge who can't die, the comic relief kid from Brooklyn with his pulp magazines, the green Lieutenant just out of training school, the grizzled Corporal who's been through hell and high water with The Sarge and the hard-bitten, cynical reporter/photographer who tags along.Into this setup comes strange goings-on in the form of a crash landed alien spaceship. And this is where things get interesting and fun. Things just get more ridiculous from there, with a blown-up spaceship, magical alien gizmos that make Rita Hayworth appear, and even a cameo appearance from Adolf Hitler himself, just so one of the heroes can punch him right in the face!!If this scenario doesn't make you want to watch it then you don't have a sense of humour as this movie has it's tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Jaime L (br) wrote: These films getting worse and worse don't they? Just when I was hoping for a continued upswing after enjoying HMSS I got to watch this piece of crap. I'd like to just point out Roger Moore doing a good job taking over full time from Sean Connery but any skill he may have been able to show was vastly overshadowed by a dumb movie with dumb forgettable bad guys who were portrayed in a way that makes me wonder if I should find them racist or not. On top of stereotypes it is taking this stuff seriously. Voodoo? Tarot Cards? Being dealt as if they were real? Was quite awful to watch. Then it got even worse with the introduction of the Louisiana sheriff. That character was one of the most embarrassing things I had to see on screen. I guess this was supposed to be funny but it just made cringe. Then was the finale. Sharks again? Really? Alligators were bad enough earlier on but the film couldn't even stay original and had to take from a previous Bond film. Lazy writing and doing its part to add up into the worst Bond film I've seen so far. Congrats movie.

Catherine L (fr) wrote: This so called "horror" movie couldn't even be considered horror in the slightest. The only think that would make it watchable is it's often less than amusing humor. At least it's better than it's sequel.

Madisyn A (mx) wrote: Funny and Cute! I love my little pony! It was a great movie! Hope to see out again soon.
