Evan L (jp) wrote: ONE OF THE BEST DOCUMENTARIES OF ALL TIME. Revelations, new information and an amazing story teller. This gripping documentary tells stories that are truly unbelievable except for the fact that its macnemara himself telling them. This documentary all started as a fifteen minute questionnaire which he just kept going on and suddenly a film was born. SEE THIS FILM AT ANY COST. PLEASE.

Harry E (mx) wrote: A fantastic early comedy from Brian de Palma, and stylistically it's very much his - he loves his tracking shots and overheads. Tom Smothers is just damn likable as the dissatisfied business executive who quits his lucrative job in order to become a tap-dancing magician. From this little plot summary alone you can probably surmise that the movie is a ridiculous one, and it is wonderfully so: there are random funny bits inserted everywhere, and Orson Welles lends the unique hilarity that only Welles can to the character of the magic instructor. This movie combines de Palma's almost surreal craziness with Tom Smothers's casual humor as well as a bit of old-fashioned madcap zaniness. (Bob Einstein, known for his work on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, even turns up for one scene, as do several other familiar faces of cinema, including M. Emmet Walsh.) Maybe all the parts don't quite all fuse into a single expertly crafted vision, but so what? The movie's wonderful - wildly off-kilter and entertaining. Love it!

Adam R (de) wrote: Just imagine "It Conquered the World" (with Peter Graves' Dr. Paul Nelson and Lee Van Cleef's Dr. Tom Anderson somewhat melded together) only more tedious, and you basically have "Killers from Space." Graves plays Douglas Martin, a nuclear scientist working with the army on perfecting the atomic bomb. After Martin is lost and presumed dead when his plane crashes after a test, he returns, albeit not like himself. Soon, Martin's colleagues, superiors and wife discover the good doctor was abducted and brainwashed by aliens hellbent on conquering the world with giant insects and reptiles grown large thanks to nuclear fallout. Martin is torn between following his captors/saviors' telepathic orders and saving the human race. I realize tales of facing/preventing apocalypse in the context of alien invasions were popular in the '50s. After all, what better way to depict the vision of Cold War-era world obliteration than a science fiction allegory (especially when the Red Scare made tackling such issues head-on perilous at best)? However, "Killers of Space" makes the end of days seem more of a bore than a threat.

Matthew B (ru) wrote: The story is about a soldier Chris Vaughn returns from an 8-year stint in the special forces to find his home town ruled by corruption and drugs. His former high school friend, now the owner of the corrupt casino, is behind it all. This movie had a really slow start to it and the ending felt a bit to rushed. the action sense are enjoyable and The rock and Johnny Knoxville was watchable.
