Deep character interaction, emotional and raw, shows a truth rarely spoken of in cultures - feels a bit like my own life story, get your tissue. Highly recommended!Bi-lingual, has real spoken Mandarin and spoken English, with subtitles. Superb intimate acting by this small cast.

The new cast sucks, the jokes are awful, the dialogue is bland, poorly written, and stupid, the cgi and visuals are lazily put together and all the fights all look digitally enhanced, and the directing and writing ooze laziness and terribleness (yes I made that word up). Just like the last film, nothing but a cash grab and failed one too because this movie didn't even make half as much money as the other Spy Kids films did. Even Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara reprising their original Spy Kids roles wasn't even satisfying at all because they became bland and they showed their abilities to not act very well anymore. I will give the film one star because I did think that Ricky Gervais as the dog was a little funny and he had fun voicing it. Now I get to say I am finally done watching this franchise, they were things to enjoy about the first two films, but as 3 and 4 were made the franchise really started to show its lack of new ideas and laziness and Robert Rodriguez ended his franchise with a dud.

(it) wrote: How did they get Sid Haig to star in this? He was so badass in Rob Zombie films. I couldn't even finish it....and I never have to shut off a movie. I just don't do that. The vampire fangs they used in this movie looked like the plastic ones you get at the dollar store around Halloween. It impaired the actors' speech waaay to much. I watched this movie until the first fight seen and then I had to turn it off. You know those fight scenes in the 90's tv series, Charmed? THOSE fight scenes were more real. When I rented this I thought for sure I would like it because I'm a huge fan of Sid Haig...but I was wrong. This is one of the very few movies I just couldn't stomach. A shame.

It's a lot easier to get laughs when you have Seinfeld, Richards, Dreyfus & Alexander on camera. Larry does make a couple appearances that are hilarious though, especially as the TV executive that's forced to fire the guy with a high pitched voice after he's castrated. "The problem is..... your voice. It's a bit high."

(ca) wrote: An good film but very complex and with my brain how it is I really struggled to understand who was on who's side and who was double crossing who. If I understood what was going on i'm sure I would have rated it even higher.
